“Truly Perfect Alaska”
Reviewed 1 February 2014

Our family had a cousin’s trip in September and stayed at Aspen Haus Bed and Breakfast. We stayed at Alden cabin and it was perfect. The cabin was spotless; the shower was hot and had powerful water pressure. Ted & Anne-Marie and family always welcomed us with a warm smile. The kitchenette was modern and beds were comfortable. We would highly recommend all travelers to see the sights of Denali and use Aspen Haus as their base.
Thank You,
Bob Callahan

If you are visiting Denali National Park, this is the place to stay. Clean, bright and cheerful accommodation. Its located in a quiet village, about 12 miles from the Park entrance, We had 2 suites, both with attached baths and a small kitchenette. Rooms are spacious and comfortable.
The owners, Anne-Marie and Ted are friendly and helpful. Anne Marie sends delicious freshly baked breads/ rolls for breakfast; she even baked a cake for our grandson's birthday!

Stayed here for 3 nights at the end of the season while visiting Denali. They had shut up the cabins and we were in one of the rooms above the garage area. Plenty of space with kitchen facilities. We could hear the other people staying in the other upstairs room, but it didn't intrude too much on us. Ted was really helpful - his wife had already left. Ted left some baking for us for our first morning which was delicious. Loved looking out from the kitchen table onto the trees and the mountains in the background. They had a small TV with attached video and a selection of family type videos. We aren't TV watchers, but spent a relaxing night watching one of the videos available. The room wasn't serviced but that wasn't a problem at all. We had difficulty finding the place as we didn't read the map properly and it isn't that well sign posted. Loved the seclusion.

We loved this place. We had Birch cabin for 3 nights. It was warm and welcoming especially after day hikes in Denali. Ann Marie and Ted are wonderful hosts. Ted is the baker!! He spoiled my husband with daily treats including scones. Ted even had gluten free muffins and bread! This is a real treat for anyone with Celiac Disease or Gluten intolerance. I was thrilled!!! Would go back to this place in a heart beat!

We stayed in two cabins at Aspen Haus, for 2 nights. Didn't get a chance to meet Ann Marie but we did meet Ted as well as their niece Jenny. Both were extremely warm and welcoming, and the baked goods were absolutely delicious. Fresh bread plus muffins one day, scones the next, with fresh cranberries from the yard. The cabins were warm, cozy and clean, beds were comfortable and water was hot. We also had all the kitchen amenities we needed (toaster, microwave, fridge). The one thing we had forgotten were bowls for the oatmeal we brought and Jenny kindly provided us with some small styrofoam boals to use. We had no trouble with the internet access either. The property is located in a residential neighborhood off the main strip, which we enjoyed. It was perfectly nice and just what we needed. The only thing to be aware of is that there are no regular television hannels - only a DVD player. We watched a DVD on Denali but otherwise had the TV off the entire time. We were fine with this but if someone wanted to watch TV all evening they may want to keep that in mind.

We had dinner in the cabin one night (had brought groceries and wine) and had dinner at the 49th St. Brewery the second night. Beware, the brewery looked like a dump from the outside (especially since it was raining and the entire entrance and parking lot were full of mud) but it's a great place. Very nice inside, really good food and a wide beer selection. Highly recommend it - I don't doubt the reviews saying it's probably the best restaurant around.

Room Tip: Take note of the room sizes on the website. Some cabins are much larger than others.

We had a wonderful stay at Aspen Haus in mid-August. Communications were great during the reservation process – Anne Marie quickly responded to my questions. We stayed in one of the suites – it was clean, comfortable, well-equipped, and quiet. Being able to use the laundry room (for a very reasonable fee) was a huge plus. Anne Marie is a fabulous baker, and we especially liked the delivery of the breakfast baked goods the evening before. That way we could have breakfast on our own schedule (and in our jammies!). But one of the best parts of our stay was the hospitality of Anne Marie and Ted. They were both welcoming, had good advice, and were great to chat with! I’ll definitely be back.
