We have stayed here several times over the past 10 years and have been pleased but this time had a few issues. We were traveling with a youth group and were hoping to check in an hour early since we had to be at a rehearsal at 5pm but were told our rooms weren't ready and that they would be ready at 4pm. We played on the beach until then and three of our four rooms were ready but my room was still being cleaned at 4:10. We returned 20 minutes later and our room was clean but our electronic room key wouldn't work. Maintenance said the lock battery was dead and replaced it. Needless to say we were late to our rehearsal. Everything else went fine except that our restroom door would stick. I let someone at the front counter know at check out.

This is the best place to stay in Homer, unless you are looking for a B & B type. Great location
in the spit. Beautiful views from your room. We saw an otter resting on shore three different evenings. If you have a fishing line you can cast out for fish. Rooms are well designed, functional
and good sized. We had the two room suite. Ate once in the main dinning room and the meal was
the worst of the trip. One member of our group had steak. Ordered it medium and it came out
very rare. Had to send it back. Also ordered two fish meals, one halibut and one rock fish. Both
came out cold, also had to send them back to be heated up. Both were poorly prepared and
tasted terrible. Also expensive. Best meal we had for fish was Captain Patty's.

Overall we enjoyed our stay at Lands End. Check in and out was effortless. Our room faced the bay so we enjoyed watching the boat traffic. Our balcony was extremely small, maybe 3 X 4 feet. The room featured a comfortable king bed and a small table with two straight-backed chairs but no easy chair or sofa. The bath and vanity were tiny. There was some mold on the tub fixtures. We have certainly stayed in worse hotels but we probably would choose another place to stay in Homer.

The Lands End is located at the end of the Spit in Homer, AK. This was one of our favorite places that we stayed. Our room had a balcony with chairs overlooking the bay. Its in the older section, but it really had the charm you expected. The room décor was different then your typical resort rooms. This had a seaside feel. We slept with our window open all night and listened to the waves hitting the shoreline as the tide changed. If you are lucky enough to get a room with a balcony, you can view the boats go by and the birds in the bay. We soaked in the hot tub which was refreshing since the weather was cool and misty. Ate breakfast in the dining room overlooking the bay also. They have a spa, indoor pool, hot tub, a few workout equipment's. Also read all of the history on the walls concerning the 1964 earthquake and how this placed was affected. We will definitely make an effort to go back again if we can. Good idea to make reservations.

Room Tip: Balcony rooms overlook the bay. We were on the second floor. Make reservations.

We checked in here after I swam across Kachemak Bay so I was very cold! The friendly staff let me go right to the hot tub with great views of the bay. The room had the most comfortable bed of the trip and was much quieter than the other places in Homer. For the hottub and the view you must stay here and the price for all this isn't much more than any other place in homer. The restaurant also is very good and they were happy to point s to a pizza place when we were not up for a full meal.

Room Tip: The larger rooms overlooking the water are what you want don't try to save a few dollars here!
