One of the very best B&B's we've stayed in. Steve and Julie are the type of people that you're easily comfortable with, and they'll share great tips for the area. Our rooms were small, but well organized and spotlessly clean. The decks have a lovely view and breakfast was exceptional. We definitely will go back!

Room Tip: The pheasant room and ptarmigan room are side by side with a shared patio on the lower level. Each...

My husband and I stayed here 2 nights. The hosts are very accomodating and friendly. Breakfast was served family style. It was wonderful. The view is beautiful of the bay and glaciers. We were treated to a full moon while we were there. I would recommend the Crane's Rest to anyone

We stayed 2 nights at Crane's Rest. Steve and Julie were great, very friendly and nice tips about the area. The room (downstairs) was private with its own bathroom. The breakfasts were great - very filling (omelettes one day and eggs Benedict the next, both with fruit compote), and Julie accommodated my vegetarian preference. The B&B is an easy drive from town (5 minutes) and has a beautiful view of the glacier and wildlife. I recommend it for any traveler.

This was a great place to land for three nights during our whirlwind tour through the Kenai Penninsula. Julie and Steve were very helpful with their recommendations for hikes and other side trips. Our To Go breakfast was impressive and sustained us for our early morning adventure with the bears :) We were also pleasantly surprised by the visit with the Sandhill Crane family- they too enjoy this wonderfully comfortable B&B. It's a little bit of a drive (maybe 3-4 miles from Homer) but worth it for the view and peaceful setting.

Room Tip: Great breakfasts either in the BB or on the go.

We stayed at Crane's Rest for three nights during our visit to Homer. The manager and her husband are extremely friendly and helpful. For example - we had to get up quite early one morning so we could begin an all day hike to the Grewingk Glacier - the manager prepared an early morning breakfast-to-go for us so that we could eat extra early.

We stayed in the Ptarmigan Room. The rooms have a unique locking system on them so that you don't need to carry keys with you. Just punch in the code and turn the dead bolt handle.

For breakfast one morning we had omelet/bacon/fruit cup and toast, and for breakfast the other morning there was scrambled eggs, bacon, toast and really wonderful rhubarb coffee cake.

This B&B is located about 6 miles outside of Homer. Follow the directions and you will find it, but be sure to pay attention - it is located on a dirt road off that branches off the main road, and there is no sign to alert you that the B&B is located back there.

Nice people and they have a good view across the Kachemak Bay.

We enjoyed our host and hostess. Very friendly and welcoming. The breakfasts were wonderful and the view from their deck was awesome! The rooms were clean and very comfortable.
Having my morning coffee on the patio below or the deck above was such a treat. Sand cranes would join us as well!
