The website advertising is very decieving beware. Bring slippers means not allowing you to wear shoes in the cabin. Curtains were translucent to thin for summer time sunshine if you want to sleep, good luck. The water pressure was lacking and took forever to get hot. Once the water was hot you could not adjust the temperature. They are not accomidating folk, so keep your requests limited. They made us feel like more of a burden than a guest. There become no point in expressing how we felt because to them they seemed unconcerned with matters of guest and more interested in drinking wine with their chaps. Did not inform us until we arrived they did not accept credit cards although this was a few years ago. Unfortunately everything was booked surrounding Homer that week making it impossible to find somewhere else to holiday. Willie also answered the door in his undergarments. Soon realizing no early morning coffee. It was crisp and proper but not worth the hassles of staying there. Hospitality is a necessity, this place does not have it.

My husband and I stayed here for one night in September. The cabin was very roomy, private and had lots of natural light. The property is situated at the top of a hill, so the view is lovely. The gardens and grounds were absolutely gorgeous. I was very impressed by the garden - even in September, there were still lots of flowers and edible plants growing.

There are a few very nice cats on the property.(Don't worry if you have allergies - they are not allowed inside the cabins.) Also, there are some chickens to visit. Breakfast was simple and delicious - fresh homemade breads and jams along with some smoked fish. The hosts were very kind and helpful. I would definitely stay here again if I had a reason to return to Homer!

During our 19 days tour through Alaska, we stayed in a dozen or so accommodations. Brigitte's Bavarian B&B did not only raise the bar but went a full step higher. Dear fellow-travellers, we challenge you: should you find a more friendly, fun (Willie is actually hilariously funny) and accommodating B&B as Brigitte's Bavarian in an even spectacular setting, we will refund your stay with them! This B&B is on top of the hill and it sits there for many years to .

My wife and I have stayed in countless B&Bs over many years, all over the U.S., as well as in several European countries. Some were cozy and charming, some were in beautiful locales, many served delicious breakfasts, many provided a comfortable night's rest, and usually the owners were welcoming and eager to share highlights of their particular area. But only a very few had all of the above, and at the very top is Brigitte's Bavarian B&B in Homer, Alaska. No place we've ever stayed has left us with such lasting, wonderful feelings as Brigitte's. Owners Willie and Brigitte have built a veritable Shangri-La high on the hillsides overlooking the waves and glaciers of stunning Kachemak Bay. The comfortable, earthy and artistic cabins are hand-built, filled with whimsy, charm and a true artistic sensibility. Stones of all sizes and shapes, driftwood, nautical artifacts, fossils and myriad treasures abound, surrounded by terraced acres of lush plants and flowers and all manner of vegetables -- which often end up gracing the morning feast -- of course, also made-from-scratch and delicious. But more than any B&B hosts I can remember, Willie and Brigitte truly made us feel like family. It's their hospitality, warmth, humor and true delight in sharing their oasis with travelers that leaves me already dreaming of our next visit to Homer, Alaska. So, if you want to experience stunning scenery, abundant wildlife, hiking, fishing, rafting, or just want to relax and eat and drink with some of the nicest folks on the planet, please consider Alaska and the Kenai Peninsula. And be sure to make time to experience the best B&B anywhere and stay with Willie and Brigitte. I guarantee you'll love it.

My family pines to return back to Brigitte's Bavarian Bed and Breakfast to enjoy their wonderful views, delicious food, and interesting company. This B&B is uniquely decorated with fossils and hand carved furniture. This B&B has abundant flowers and wildlife and provides a panoramic view of Kachemak Bay.

I originally found this gem about 5 years ago looking online for B&Bs in the Homer area. Since that time I have returned every Spring and always try to book a room here. Unfortunately, one time I called in a little too late and had to spend a few days in the local Best Western – so definitely try and call ahead as they only have a few rooms available and they get booked up in the busy months (Memorial Day – Labor Day). What can I say other than this place is like a little piece of heaven on a mountaintop overlooking the bay and amazing snow-covered glaciers. Willie and Brigitte are amazing hosts and have become great friends over the years. Willie cooks up a mean breakfast and if you are lucky, he’ll let you try some of his home-smoked fresh caught salmon. Willie is a true craftsman the two have built this place with lots of love – that you will feel when snuggly wrapped in your warm flannel sheets. Looking forward to another visit this summer – and many more to come!

Room Tip: Book early as there are only a few rooms available.
