Attraction details
Owner description: Daily cruises to the pristine wilderness of Tracy Arm Fjord. View mountains and rock walls that are over a mile high, tumbling waterfalls, and icebergs. Two active tidewater glaciers lie at the end of Tracy Arm Fjord. Wildlife may be spotted on this cruise, though it is not the main attraction of the trip. Our skilled captains ensure the best possible viewing of the sights for our guests.

To reach through narrow inland passage. The water is so beautiful clear bluish green and scattered with numerous small to medium chunks of white and blue dislodged from the glacier.
It is surrounded by beautiful mountains and there are several narrow waterfalls from the mountains. The sea surface was calm and flat unlike that at the edge of the ocean. The glacier it self is very blue.

Based on the many great Trip Advisor reviews, we decided on Adventure Bound Alaska in Juneau to see Tracy Arm Glacier. This was the best decision of our Alaska vacation. The boat was clean, comfortable, fast, and smooth. Our captain was never in a hurry, and always took his time so that everyone got great pictures, and up close and personal with the glaciers. The two glaciers we visited were calving, and the captain would turn off the engines so we would not only enjoy the sights, but also hear the sounds of the glacier. We were in the ice field as close to the glacier as was safely possible. Amazing!!!

7:30 found us bleery eyed and standing in Marine Park in Juneau with 25 other people and no boat. The boat arrived and we got on quickly and started the 10 hour trip out to Tracy Arm and back. It was a fantastic trip with Adventure Bound. They went to the fjord as quickly as they could and then the fun began looking at icebergs, seals, eagles, glaciers and waterfalls. The water was very calm and no one really needed the dreaded sea sickness medication. The smaller boats that Adventure Bound uses can get closer to the glaciers and at one point drove the nose of the boat into a waterfall and got the steward wet. We had a fantastic day as it was bright and sunny and the people on the boat were congenial. The Captain has been doing this trip for 20 years and comments on what you are seeing. Be sure to take food with you if you can. They do make sandwiches and have other snacks and coffee and soup. It was just easier to bring your own food and eat it when you want. The coffee was acceptable. The cabins are heated, but you will be hanging out of the deck for the time you are in Tracy Arm as you won't want to miss anything. We did this is Sept and would recommend a hat, gloves and a down filled coat. Some people thought they spotted whales on the way back.. but we didn't see them.

We took the cruise of a lifetime Departing Seattle, visiting Juneau, Skagway, Tracy Arm Glacier, Victoria and disembarking at Seattle. The Royal Carribean Cruise Line was second to none and we had a very memorable, relaxing holiday on "Rhapsody of The Seas" From check in to disembarking our holiday was carefree, relaxing and a wonderful experience. We met some lovely friends aboard and were sad to see the end of our cruise. The scenery was spectacular and a large variety of shore excursions were available allowing you to just sightsee or take in the spectacular scenery. Beautiful Glacier gardens in Juneau inspired us to get into the gardening on our return home and even more spectacular gardens The Buchart Gardens in Victoria. The White Pass Train winding through the mountains at Skagway was a wonderful experience as was Skagway itself - what a beautiful quaint town filled with history. Victoria was also a lovely last port of call and wish we had more time to explore this very pretty place. A memorable holiday from start to finish. The staff and crew on board the Rhapsody were amazing and we cant wait until our next holiday on a Royal Carribean cruise at Christmas out of Singapore.

Our Alaskan Cruise was a wonderful experience full of beautiful scenery and adventure. I guess one of the best day trips we had was taking a helicopter to a glacier and getting out and walking along the glacier, it was so beautiful. In Juneau we went on a whale watching trip and was not disappointed, seeing the whales and seals in their natural environment was breath taking, unfortunately the weather let us down on this day, we had torrential rain, we are told this is not unusual for Juneau. Skagway and Ketchikan were good stop offs and very interesting excursions. A must is the White Pass train ride through the mountains at Skagway
The cruise line was Holland American which was first class and we thoroughly recommend them, not too big with probably about 400 people aboard.
This trip will be remembered as one of the best we have made for beauty, adventure, relaxation, luxury and meeting an excellent group of people.
