“So Amazing!”
Reviewed 27 July 2014

Our Captain Steve was very funny and was genuinely happy to be out there showing us a good time. He was an incredible driver and managed to get us crazy close to huge icebergs and beautiful waterfalls! I got to touch the side of the mountain in this strange little alcove he took us to and stuck my head under the falling water! The glacier was BEAUTIFUL! So many great pictures! The noise it makes when it breaks apart and ice hits the water is unbelievable! This was seriously the best day of our vacation ever. Miss you Steve!

“Fantastic trip”
Reviewed 15 July 2014

We took this trip on the last day of a week in Juneau. It was a brilliant trip. The crew were very knowledgable and made a real effort to show us interesting things on the way to the glacier, including two orca whales. We had plenty of time at the glacier and were able to get much closer than any other boats. The trip is very good value and the boat is nice with good outdoor viewing area.

“Amazing trip!”
Reviewed 13 July 2014

My parents had taken this voyage in previous visits to Alaska, but this was my first time in Juneau. We took the day long trip to Tracy Fjord and scenery was absolutely stunning! We saw many waterfalls and spent a good amount of time (45 minutes or so) at the glacier. We could not get that close to it as there were a ton of icebergs, but we still managed to get within a 1/2 mile or so of the face. The cruise ships that came into the fjord could not even get close enough to get a glimpse of the glacier due to the amount of ice. While making our way through the ice, we saw lots of seals fairly close to the boat. We also saw bears, whales and lots of eagles on the trip. The boat captain was awesome as he was able to get the boat within several feet of waterfalls on the sides of the fjord and provided a bath for some of the younger people on the trip. The weather and seas were also in our favor on the day of the trip. It started out a little rainy in Juneau but was partly cloudy at the glacier. This is a trip I would recommend to anyone that has the time to take the trip!

“Icebergs, glaciers and bears.....oh my.”
Reviewed 11 July 2014

There were 6 of us who took this day cruise from Juneau in first week of June. We had a perfect, sunny day and a very empty boat (about 15 pax all up) because we were so early in season. This is a 'mom and pop' type operation, which we really appreciated. Could b.y.o. or get sandwiches from them for reasonable cost (recommend the byo, and they have coolers on board to put your stuff in, altho we brought our own cooler). The best part of the trip was the 'gung ho' attitude (and friendliness) of the captain. He took us right up to the glacier (as far as we could go until he could no longer navigate through the field of icebergs!) and we saw all sorts of calving, etc. Another highlight was spotting black bears that had come down to feed on the mussels/shellfish attached to the rocks (we were lucky to be there at low tide, when they come down to feed). Amazing stuff. The boat is very basic amenity-wise, but you are not there for luxury - it's all about the scenery! Highly recommended.

“Fantastic trip”
Reviewed 6 July 2014

Simply put, this trip was one of the highlights of our 10 days in Alaska. One striking view after another the entire way - ocean, fjord, cliffs, glaciers, animals, etc, etc, etc. AMAZING to get to so close to the icebergs and glaciers. The weather and conditions allowed the captain to spend a lot of time drifting quietly in front of two glaciers... it will truly leave you with a sense of awe.

The boat seats about 40 and there were 20-ish people on our trip. The crew were great. The captain, Steve, was very nice and incredibly knowledgeable, if a little crusty. The two deck-hands, one "long timer" and one high-school student who was working there for the summer, were both very friendly and knowledgeable, quick to grab a reference book when you asked a question, and completely oriented to making the day a nice one for everyone on board.

As another poster commented, they have a very nice simple system for buying snacks on board. Works well and is completely reasonably priced.

I can't recommend these folks and the experience highly enough.

Bring: sunscreen, sunglasses, hats, cameras, a waterproof jacket, and the usual set of layers for warmth and flexibility.
