“Sepel Hallow B&B”
Reviewed 27 February 2014

We stayed at Sepal Hallow in the Captain's Quarters for 2 days on July 31 & Aug 1, 2013. This was our first time staying at a B&B and we were in for a treat. Georgia was wonderful to us. Hospitality was great as was her immense knowledge of the area. She made some suggestions as to some things to do while we were there. Breakfast both mornings was outstanding! I felt very pampered while there and would definitely recommend staying there if you find yourself in Juneau. Georgia was delightful and a gem! The area was very peaceful. The drive into Juneau wasn't far. We would stay there again :)

This was the perfect base for immersing ourselves in the outdoor Alaska we came to see. It is surrounded by quiet rainforest and a 5 minute drive from the Mendenhall Glacier. From here we were able to hike the East Glacier Trail one afternoon, the West Glacier Trail the next day, and return at different times over 2 days to observe a total of 7 black bears at Steep Creek. One evening we drove to the Shrine of St. Therese to watch the sun set behind jagged mountain peaks. We would not have had these experiences staying in town.

After our days outdoors, we enjoyed returning to Georgia’s friendly hospitality and the charming, spacious Captain’s Quarters. Her delicious breakfasts fortified us for hiking and her knowledge of the area enriched our trip. If you can stay more than one night in Juneau, you can avoid the cruise ship crowds and evening noise here.

We left Sepal Hallow for a 7-day Un-Cruise (small boat, highly recommended) where we compared our Juneau stay with that of some other passengers, concluding that this B&B offered a much better experience than the hotels in town. It was a short drive into town for dinner and the Mt. Roberts Tram and Alaska State Museum.

We my wife and I have spend our first five days of our trip in Alaska in an amazing house in the rain forest almost a walking distance from mandenhall glacier with nearby great walking trails. Georgia and Jim are gentle and generous hosts always willing to give good advices on any subject, including bear and whale watching... morning breakfasts are never the same and each morning has its one surprise.Georgia is a pleasant interesting and intelligent woman let us feel home away from home.if you have a car it's a perfect place to stay

I stayed four days at the Sepal Hallow B & B here in Juneau. It is not in town but a short very scenic drive, closer to the airport and Mendenhall Glacier. My room had a fireplace and private balcony. The bed and pillows were comfy, actually comforting too. The rose comforter on my bed was the same one that I had years ago! Plush carpet and private bathroom with a shower (no tub). While the B & B is nice, the best part was a beautiful day with the host, Georgia. She is knowledgeable about the area, the people, the land, and was a delightful person to spend time with over a few meals. She's an excellent cook. The smell of cranberry orange muffins woke me up this morning, I will not tell how many I ate with some kind of delicious berry jam!

I will come back again. I'd love to bring family and friends. Georgia was a wonderful hostess who not only shared her home but heart as well. You must have a rental car to stay here, there's so much to see and do beyond the town of Juneau. Georgia shared some of her favorite spots and I seen a whale and sea lion today. When I took a early cruise to Tracy Arm she packed a perfect lunch. I so much appreciate her hospitality.

I <3 Juneau!

We stayed a couple nights at this B & B. Georgia is the host and is very knowledgable of the Juneau area and was able to give us advice on what to see based on our tastes and needs. She also helped us secure a rental car, a must have to see the sights around Juneau.

The room was very nice, we stayed in the Colonial Room which was downstairs and shared a bathroom with another room. When we stayed there was no one else in the other room so we had the bathroom to ourselves. There is a room upstairs that is private, with it's own bathroom and cireplace and it looked very nice.

Georgia had a great breakfast for us that had lots of variety and more than we could eat, very tasty. A bear came onto the deck while we were eating, luckily we were inside and were able to see the bear from the dining room.

Room Tip: See review.
