If you're looking for a hotel in the heart of Juneau that won't cost a small fortune, this is your place. Because the Driftwood provides shuttle service provided to and from the airport, this hotel will also save you the cost of a taxi. Hotel rooms are clean and equipped with the basics. We requested a room above the ground level, but there is no elevator, so we had to carry bags up the stairs. Like other reviewers, we heard some voices in the parking lot at night, but the noise didn't keep us awake. The view of Mt. Juneau outside the hotel is gorgeous, and the hotel is only a short walk from downtown. Breakfast at the Sandpiper next door is very good. We were meeting a cruise ship the next day, and because it was raining, the hotel agreed to shuttle us to our meeting location. Very customer friendly!

Free shuttles from Airport and Ferry Dock which are 20 to 40 minutes from downtown. The shuttle was convenient in both directions. This alone makes the motel a good deal, the motel is a very good value by Alaska standards .

The motel is a basic motel with no frills, they gave us bar soap, but no shampoo. We had a room on the second floor in a corner which was not noisy. We found the bed to be very soft, the room was clean and in decent condition. There were lots of cable channels on the TV.
The staff of the motel were helpful and friendly.

The motel is located in a very good location, next to the new Alaska museum, a few minutes walk to down town with its restaurants , and two minute walk to a large well stocked supermarket.

There was a major problem with the room, no air conditioning. Alaska was having a major heat wave (in the 90's F.) The one openable window, only opened a few inches so it was unbearably hot in the room. We had to leave the front door open most of the time.

Because of the good location, reasonable cost and free shuttles, we would probable stay here again, if Alaska is not having a heat wave.

Room Tip: Get a room that has a window that opens more than a few inches if it is hot outside.

You need to call the shuttle as soon as ferry arrives and then wait for them to arrive - about 25 minutes. No one announced it but went out to a full shuttle and had to squeeze in. Quite uncomfortable as luggage area overflowing. Then got as far as gas station and returned to pick up more people. They got in and 3 got out. Felt sorry for people until I found out were friends of owner, not paying guests. Taxis are at least $35 so not really an option.

Check in fine. No wifi in room 316. Could pick up another property's but not driftwood. Wifi in lobby was SLOW as was their PC.

Room basic- not cleaned thoroughly- found apple under bed. Shower was good&powerful. Got in at 11pm so did not use facilities.

Staff friendly and location good. But would not rush back as not that great for $105 +tax but hey this is Alaska where value is somewhat different!

The Driftwood airport shuttle was easy & free. Our room had a kitchen which we made good use of. The stores near by made it easy to eat in when we wanted to and it should be noted that pretty much everything closes down early each day as the cruise ship people go back to their boats, sometimes dinner is limited if you don't go early. Everything is within walking distance from the lodge. The room did get warm as we had some really nice days but we just opened the door, grabbed a cold beverage during the short time we were in the room. The staff was great but the construction going on next door for a new museum started at 6am everyday. There is complementary bar soap and coffee, that's it. If you have high expectations & want luxury, this is not for you. If you want value and a clean place to crash, do it.

We stayed for a quick overnight between flight and ferry. Arriving late on the jet, I was told to call when we landed for a pickup. Shuttle took a solid half hour to get there, and when it arrived we sat in the van with another party for a further 20 minutes "waiting for more passengers" while our driver sat outside talking on his cell phone. I then got a call to my cell inside the van informing me that the shuttle was at the airport waiting for us... By the time we finally got headed back to the hotel at 11pm our driver continued chatting away until another passenger finally got fed up and sternly requested he hang up the phone and focus on the DRIVE. All the staff we interacted with during our stay were extremely unprofessional. The room itself was average, clean, but nothing to write home about. I guess this place would be fine if you're in a pinch for a "cheap" place to stay, but don't count on their customer service or shuttle if you're on a tight schedule...

We booked without high expectations, but we needed a quick overnight between a late ferry arrival and an early flight out. We wanted to be downtown and the Driftwood offered a free shuttle. Never again. Dirty carpet, stale smell. The kind of place where you immediately yank off the bedspread and inspect the sheets. To get a breath of fresh air in the place, we opened the window, leaving access to our door knob only a quick punch through the window screen. When we went to dinner we packed all our valuables and electronics in our backpacks and took them with us. Slept with a chair braced against the door. The shuttle picking us up from the ferry took forever, and they couldn't guarantee to get us to the airport on time . Would never have taken a chance on the shuttle again anyway. WIFI was not guaranteed to reach rooms away from the center, but we were practically above the office, and it didn't work in our room. The only positive I can think of is the shower: it had water pressure like Niagra Falls. I would never stay here again!

Room Tip: Good luck!

We had two nights in Juneau and found the accommodation okay. Room was hot and stuffy when we arrived and unfortunately there was no fan or air con available for use. It was a bit noisy as our room was on the corner and exposed to traffic noise. Room was clean and had a full kitchen which was great but there was no cutlery provided! A plus was the shuttle pick up from the ferry but there was a mix up with our return, due to an oversight by not one but two staff members.

Room Tip: We were on the top floor which required carrying our bags up the stairs but I would recommend a room...
