The room doesn't get much more average than this one but since it is Juneau, they can pretty much charge what they like for it. The maid service was good. The weather was uncharacteristically warm and there is no AC so they did what they could with fans. As far as hotels in Juneau go, it's one of the best but compared to the rest of the world, nothing special.
dnkpowell: Thank you for your feedback - we are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay at the Juneau Travelodge Hotel. We have had an unseasonably hot summer and I know that air conditioning would be nice. Thankfully Juneau did not run out of fans for purchase. We appreciate you taking the time to review your stay and we look forward to seeing you at the Juneau Travelodge Hotel on your next trip to Juneau.
This is a nice, older hotel with all the amenities. Our room had two queen-size beds, bureau, 2 fans, refrigerator, microwave, free WiFi, and a good TV. Elevator was excellent. The "Airport" in the title is misleading. We never heard a plane. Everything was very clean. All employees were friendly and helpful. We paid for 3 nights, but we needed to return to Haines after 2 nights. They quickly refunded our money for the extra night because we had booked through Travelodge. The price at the websites like Expedia was the same, and if we'd booked through a website, we would have had to negotiate with them to try to get our money back. The on-site restaurant was good. We paid $152/night at height of tourist season, but the hotels that were rated higher on Tripadvisor were booked up with a convention and if they had space, it would have been costlier. I would stay here again if I return to Juneau.
Thank you for sharing your experience at the Juneau Travelodge Hotel with the travel community. It’s so pleasing to hear about the wonderful service you received from all of the staff. We hope that you are a Wyndham Rewards Member or signed up to be a member and received points for your stay with us. Hasn't it just been the nicest summer weather here in Alaska!

I was in Juneau for softball and shared the room with others on my team. The beds were comfortable, but beyond that, I don't have a lot of good to say. Connecting rooms were requested when the reservation was made, but when we checked in, they said they didn't have any available. They were also unwilling to do anything to compensate us for the inconvenience or find a way to fix it. The staff was less than impressive, not all that friendly or helpful at the front desk and when I called to ask for extra coffee in the room, they said they would send someone up but never did. The room was very warm and actually came with three fans. This was due to no air conditioning and no windows. There was a sliding door that went onto a small patio, however, it was a shared patio and also had a door leading to the hallway of the hotel on one side and the stairs on the other side -- and staff walked past all day and night! The only way to keep the room even close to cool enough to sleep was to keep the door open. To make it even worse, the door had a rather questionable lock and a broom handle to prop in the door to keep it closed. Seriously. Not much of a sense of security. Oh, and while sitting in the room one afternoon, I watched an ant make its way across the table in front of me. I prefer to end with something positive, however, so I would like to say that the young man who cleaned our room one of the days was very friendly and did a nice job.
I apologize that your stay at the Juneau Travelodge Hotel did not meet your expectations during your trip to Juneau for the Rain Ball Softball Tournament. I would like to address some of your concerns. The reservation was made for 2 rooms and the rooms were to be occupied by 2 guests per room at the discounted "Alaska" rate which is $139.00 plus tax per night, a $30.00 discount per night. Also during the reservation process it was stated that there would be an additional $15.00 per night charge for any additional persons in the guest room and we were advised that you would let us know that at check-in. Your rooms checked in listing only 2 guests per room. There were no reservation notes requesting adjoining rooms and the hotel does not guarantee adjoining rooms during any reservation process.
Living in Alaska and being an Alaskan brings great joy when we have a beautiful summer and days that exceed 70 degree weather. Getting to play Rain Ball in this weather is exceptional. Alaska really does not have much need for air conditioning and out of the 14 plus hotels in Juneau, I know of 2 properties that do have air conditioning. Our hotel does not have air conditioning. However, we do provide fans in our guest rooms to help out during our unusual warm days and if our 3 fans offended you I apologize. I also went up to the room you occupied and checked the door lock. It worked without issue and it is not a "broom handle" but a dowel that has been cut to fit the sliding door for extra security.
I hope that you enjoyed our indoor swimming pool after your long hot day at the ball fields. I hope that you enjoyed our lounge after your long hot day at the ball fields and I hope that you enjoyed your 15% discount at the Mi Casa Restaurant for either breakfast, lunch or dinner during your stay.
