Ocean Bluff Bed and Breakfast
Ranked #2 of 5 Kasilof B&B and Inns

What a great B&B! Spectacular view, great food and fabulous hostess! We stayed at Ocean Bluff for 2 nights in June and it was wonderful! Of the 4 B&Bs we stayed at during our trip, Ocean Bluff was by far our favorite.

We arrived quite late and Kathy, the owner, was up waiting for us with a smile. She showed us our rooms, offered us snacks and drinks and was happy to chat with us. She immediately made us feel welcome. The rooms were clean and comfortable with plenty of room for 2 people with luggage. The bathrooms were also very clean and the bath towels were incredibly fluffy.

We were pleasantly surprised in the morning by the amazing view! From the living/dining room area you look out across the Cook Inlet to a mountain range. It was so beautiful we decided to spend the morning walking the beach behind Kathy's house. In the afternoon we went fishing and Kathy made sure we had everything we needed.

Breakfast both mornings were hearty and delicious. The first morning we were served a breakfast pizza with fresh fruit; the second morning we had sourdough pancakes with homemade berry syrup, scrambled eggs with reindeer sausage and more fresh fruit. We never left the table hungry and Kathy didn't complain or make any fuss accommodating our special dietary needs. The second night Kathy shared more snacks including a very good halibut spread and spent the evening talking with us.

Overall, this was a wonderful place to stay. I wish we had spent more time at Ocean Bluff and I hope I get to return some day. I would highly recommend this B&B to people visiting the Kasilof area.

Room Tip: All 3 rooms in the house are great, but they all share 2 bathrooms. If you prefer a private bathroom...

Relaxing home feel away from home. Third year visiting, feel like one of the family, share stories and make wonderful memories with beautiful scenery all around you. Got to stay in the cabin which was awesome. Already booked for next year for whole week this time and can't wait. Thank you Kathy

Couldn't of had a better time! Kathy (the owner) was great...from the beginning she made us feel welcomed and just like family. We even helped clean fish nets on the back porch one evening (we volunteered of course!).

We stayed at the Ocean Bluff B&B for 2 nights as part of our time in the Kenai...it makes for a relaxing get-away with a feeling of privacy but isn't too far away from great sight seeing and excellent fishing. The views are great and Kathy's flowers were beautiful all around the yard.

The room we stayed in (Coho) was comfortable and nicely decorated and the bathrooms were spic and span clean.

Our breakfasts were delicious and hearty! Scrambled eggs with smoked salmon was excellent and the sourdough breakfast pizza hit the spot. The conversation around the table with the other guests was a real highlight...no lack of things to talk about during our adventures in Alaska.

Kathy and her friends (Bob & Pauline) taught us all about catching, cleaning and cooking "reds" (Sockeye salmon). We stayed outside till 11pm talking with them as they cleaned their catch from the day...lots of fun!

No hesitation in recommending Ocean Bluff and we hope someday to make a return trip.

Ive come to stay at this place as part of a family reunion fishing trip for 3 years in a row, its close to a number of hot fishing spots for those who like to fish, & theres plenty of the natural beauty, landscapes, flora, & fauna that Alaska has to offer right outside the windows. The house feels like a homey retreat much of this thanks to Kathy who is an awesome host, she goes out of her way to help her guests feel comfortable & at home. We've sort of adopted her into our family, anyways i cant think of anything bad say about the place its just that good i highly recommend it to anyone looking for lodging while doing some traveling through Alaska its a choice you wont regret :)

If you want a home base to explore the Kenai Peninsula Ocean Bluff B&B is the place. From salmon fishing in the Kenai to Halibut fishing in Homer Ocean Bluff is central to both. The breakfasts are fantastic and Kathy is more than happy to share her recipes. Our beds were very comfortable and the location is quiet. If you like the sound of ocean waves then stay in the cabin. You will have a great night sleep and the view of the ocean and Mt Redoubt is outstanding. Kathy is a great host who took care of all our needs. Her house is very clean and has a "homey' feeling that ensures a comfortable stay. Ocean Bluff B&B - We love it there and plan on going back next year.

For those seeking a very relaxing yet beautiful experience please check out Ocean Bluffs. Owner/Operator Kathy takes great pains to ensure your visit will be memorable in the most wonderful way. Not only a great Hostess, but a fabulous cook who asks questions to ensure your time at her home is one you should, as we do, recommend to many others. We stayed in the "cabin" and had a great time watching the sunset at 11:48 p.m.!! Beautiful indeed!!

Room Tip: Highly recommend requesting the cabin although the rooms in the home looked very nice. Take time to...

After a week of traveling along the Alaskan coast on a cruise, our group of nine stayed at Ocean Bluff for an evening to enjoy one more night in The Last Frontier before all heading our separate ways. What a great place to end the trip! After our arrival, Kathy greeted us with a warm welcome. We quickly unpacked and were out the door again for an evening float and beach salmon bake. During the float, it began to lightly sprinkle. The sprinkle turned into a rain. And the rain turned into a downpour. By the time we returned to Ocean Bluff, we were rain soaked and cold. Kathy quickly gathered our coats to take them to dry. Once we changed, she also took our wet clothes and put them in the dryer while starting up the coffee with a much needed side of Baileys. We stayed up for several hours trading stories with Kathy. The next morning she prepared the best meal we had all week - scrambled eggs with salmon and a touch of cream cheese, pancakes with homemade raspberry syrup, fresh fruit, orange juice, and coffee. A true bed and breakfast! Her home is very clean, neat, and cozy. Her backyard is naturally beautiful and with access to the beach and views of the volcano/mountain. What more could you ask for? Thanks for the hospitality, Kathy!
