This was a geat Alaskan fishing experience, I'd reccomned Jimmie Jack and his guides to anyone wanting to fish there. Met some wonderful new friends and had an awesome time. The accomodations were great, and the scenery at the lodge is breathtaking.

My dad and I just returned from Jimmie Jack's Lodge. We went up to celebrate his 80th birthday. My father is no ordinary 80 year old. He is active and full of it. Well let me tell you, we had the time of our lives. We fished 7 straight days. We fished for reds, rainbows, halibut, and kings. (two fly in for reds, one day trout, and two different rivers for kings) We were blessed each day. Kath and JoJo did a tremendous job for us in the lodge. The place was extremely clean, breakfast and lunch was great, and the people we met were the nicest people. They even let us watch the Bruins win the cup on tv the other night! The guides (cat daddy, Jacob, and Adam) were the best..Jimmy too. They put us on fish. We didn't go fishing..we went catching! Dad and I left the lodge Monday (6/20) feeling like we were two kids going home from camp. You know what I mean...missing the new friends that we met. I encourage you to check this place out. I'm a believer!

Room Tip: Just give Jimmie a call and speak to him.

Jimmie Jack

Of all my trips to Alaska, nothing compares to fishing with Jimmie Jack on The Kenai River for Alaskan Salmon. IMHO, the best tasting fish on earth !

I have fished with a lot of good guides on the Kenai and Jimmie Jack is by far the best! I really enjoyed the whole day concept and how much time was spent on the water. More time with your line in the water means a better chance at a monster king. Wether its the staff at the lodge that makes you feel like family, the views from the fire pit, or the guides who know where the fish are, Jimmie Jack runs an unforgettable operation.

We stayed at Jimmie Jack's Lodge and fished with his guides for 3 days and had a great time. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. Jimmie was flexible in working with us as we had a change of plans during our trip and decided to change our fishing plans from a river trip to a fly out trip. The lodge was very nice and the area was convenient to Kenai.

Jimmiejack runs a good operation. Accomodations are not fancy (we stayed in attached older apartment) but very comfortable and clean. Fishing set up was excellent - great boats, guides, and knowledge of how to catch 'em. We limited out every day on Silvers and trout. Jimmiejack is personally engaged, very accessible and unfailingly pleasant and helpful. A problem with reels was addressed promptly with new replacements. Extra raingear was available on the boats if you forgot your own. Guides well versed in safety and comfort needs. It's obvious the emphasis is on guest satisfaction and results! Jimmie's fish processing recommendation did a terrific job both with smoking fish and vacuum freezing and then Fedexing. We were completely satisfied and heartily recommend. We'll be back!

The lodge is clean and well set up for its purpose. Nothing fancy. The setting is on the shore of Cook Inlet and there are spectacular mountain views across the Inlet on clear days. There is a commercial fishing operation off the beech in front of the lodge. The staff are polite, friendly, and accommodating. The food is excellent and plentiful. The fishing guides are knowledgable, friendly, and fun to visit with. We caught lots of pink and silver salmon and halibut. The trout fishing was not as good as expected and apparently surprisingly below the norm according to the guides. The Lodge itself is not remote but sits amongst a few residences and businesses. Soldatna is a small town but has a lot of resources and a few decent restaurants. It is roughly halfway between Homer and Seward so it is an excellent location to explore the Kenai peninsula. The fish processing shop did a great and timely job with our fish and they arrived in Tennessee well frozen. We plan to come back.
