Our family of four adults stayed here two nights while in Ketchikan and it was quiet, very clean and an enjoyable stay. It wasn't air conditioned, but there was a fan and you can leave the window open and never heard traffic or any noise. The staff were very helpful and they will shuttle anywhere within the downtown area and pick you up. Comfortable beds, clean linens and bathroom. Very convenient to the airport. It is a slight distance from downtown, but worth it! The restaurant had great food and was affordable. We ate breakfast and dinner there which was convenient as most downtown restaurants close early due to cruise ships leaving town.

Dear 256Myrak:
We are very happy to hear that you found your rooms clean and confortable. We take great care to make sure our rooms are as if no one else has ever been in them. Best Western has implemented an "I Care Program" using black lights and sanitizing wands in the cleaning of our rooms. It truly makes a difference. Ketchikan usually has no need for air conditioning, but the fans do help for those unusual warm days we may get. We are happy to hear you utilized our van to visit the downtown area. We keep our restaurants open later to accommodate those late night arrivals that may want something to eat. We appreciate your recommendations to others. Hopefully, you will visit us again in the near future. Sincerely, Linda Peters, G.M.

Don't pass up a great place while in Ketchikan. Staff is wonderfull and willing to go out of their way. I will return to this hotel every time I'm in Ketchikan. On-site restuarant and upstairs bar & grille offer too many choices

We came in on a big ferry from the Inland Passage and was delighted that this hotel was, in fact, right across the street from the ferry landing! Wow. It could not have been closer. They provided free shuttle to the town and other places. We went into town and later called them to pick us up. All with a lovely smile and great personalities. When we left, we were flying out, so we had to take a tiny ferry across to a separate island where the Ketchikan Airport is located. What a dream flying out of there! Only two gates. We could have checked in with only 1/2 hour to spare, but since we were so used to big city travel, we were there much too early. Great town, great airport, and great hotel.

$300.00 a night is outrageous. The rooms were clean and large. Two and a half miles from town but has shuttle. Staff very friendly especially John the shuttle driver. I think next time we go we will schedule not to stay the night just go straight to float plane.

Dear Michael M:
Thank you for taking the time to do a review on Tripadvisor. We are sorry to hear that you felt the price you paid was outrageous. We do feel we offer a number of amenities to compensate for the high cost of the rooms. Especially, our shuttle service which you say you made use of; which is available to take you anywhere within the city limits from 6AM - 10:00 PM daily. Thank you for the nice compliment to John, out shuttle driver. We do understand that sometimes flight schedules do not allow you to go directly to the float planes to reach your destinations. Paying $300.00 per night does mean that you paid full price for the room, and you may look into the many discount rates we offer if you qualify for them. We are happy to hear you enjoyed the large, clean room. We do hope you will consider giving us another opportunity to service your hospitality needs in the future. Sincerely, Linda Peters, G.M.

Stayed for 2 nights. Was very pleased with the room. I was told that the building we were in was newer. The building is a few short steps across from lobby and an elevator ride. We were located on the 4th floor overlooking an apartment complex. If you looked to the left you were able to see the ferry terminal. The room had 2 queen beds. The beds were so comfortable and linens high quality. 2 arm chairs off to the side of the bed which was nice to sit and watch tv. There was a desk and desk chair. A flat screen tv with many tv channels. A coffee pot, microwave, and small refrigerator. The bathroom was clean and had a tub. One nice touch was a "goodie bag" placed in room that included a bottle water, chips and a granola bar. There is a restaurant and pub located in main hotel. Parking can be a challenge. Lots of locals come to hotel restaurant. The only problem that I had was, when going to room, the key card did not work. Had to go back down and over to the lobby and get the key reprogrammed. If you are catching the ferry this is the hotel for you. Ferry terminal is across the street. There is a grocery/liquor store located about a block away. Post office is across the street and adjacent to ferry terminal. Hotel advertise a free shuttle to area locations, but saw at front desk that there are certain times they go to Walmart. There is a bus stop right near hotel. Will stay here again.

Room Tip: Top floor. North building.

Dear ak747gal:
Thank you for taking the time to review our property. We are happy to hear you enjoyed your 2 nights with us. We do purchase the best we can for our guests in linens and our pillows are Dream Maker pillows to give you a very restful sleep. Many of our guests have purchased them for their home use because they love them so much. We apologize for the problem with your Key card, but at times if the card gets close to a cell phone it may be deactivated. Thank you for listing all the conveniences located close to our property that makes the stay at this end of the city more appealing. We hope you enjoyed Ketchikan as a whole and will return to visit our fair city again in the near future. Thank you, Linda Peters, G.M.

With the exception of challenging parking (there's lots but you have to work around the building for it), this is one of the better hotels you will find in southeast! I've stayed here a number of times and have only had great rooms and better service - if they have lesser rooms, I've not seen them. The shuttle is usually available which compensates for it being further away from downtown, etc. It is across the street from the 2 ferries and easy walking distance to the airport (although the shuttle will take you to them too).

If you want a full plate of country cooking, don't go anywhere else - you'll find it at Jeremiah's (they actually have a restaurant upstairs and downstairs). Since I was in Ketchikan for meetings, my only regret staying at the Landing was that i couldn't spend more time in my room.

Dear AKTraveler2012: We are happy to hear that you have been a guest of our hotel many times and enjoy the rooms at our property. Thank you for your compliments of our food at the Landing Restaurant and Jeremian's Pub. We are pleased that you feel we are better than a home away from home; as we try very hard to make all our guests feel at home. Thank you for taking the time to tell others of your experiences with us. Please be sure to come back and see and give us the opportunity to provide you with superior customer care.
Best Regards,

I was upgraded to a lovely, spacious room at this hotel. The welcome on arrival was great however after that the service went downhill. Reception staff forgot to send the shuttle to collect us in time to eat in the hotel restaurant, leaving us waiting in the cold for 3/4 hour. They didn't apologise, could not advise on what was on the room service menu and seemed overwhelmed with their front desk duties. Room cost is high compared to other accommodation, especially as this hotel is located away from town and you have to rely on unreliable shuttle to get around.

Dear CJ170776: My apologizes for the poor service you received during your stay with the complimentary shuttle service. That is not the type of service we pride ourselves with and are truly sorry we did not meet or exceed your expectations. Our shuttle service is a great amenity for our guests and is loved by many of our guests. It does at times get quite busy with 107 rooms to accommodate.
We are very sorry that you were not able to eat in our hotel restaurant downstairs; but we do also offer a great menu in Jeremiah's upstairs which closes later than the downstairs restaurant. We appreciate your informing us that our staff was unable to answer your questions about our room service and we have added this topic to our training with our staff this month. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
We hope that you will consider the Best Western brand in the future when making your travel plans. Thank you for taking the time to review our property. Sincerely, Linda Peters, G.M.
