“Absolute Must Do - Unbelievably Beautiful”
Reviewed 28 May 2011

We went with Island Wings sightseeing over the Misty Fjords by floatplane on our recent Alaskan cruise. This is a must-do - simply a humbling experience, so incredibly scenic and peaceful. Definitely the best thing to do in Ketchikan and a wonderful way for anyone to experience true Alaskan scenery. Highly recommend Island Wings for the excursion choice.

“Misty Fjords Air”
Reviewed 25 May 2010

Recently returned from a cruise to Alaska and this float plane trip was one of the great highlights. We booked it in the tours terminal upon docking and not through the cruise ship.
Got a substantial savings from the ships price. Of course you do risk no space available if you wait however that wasn't a problem this early in the season.
David Doyon II flew us over snow covered mountains, past sheer cliffs, over wildlife and let us appreciate the silence of a beautiful lake after we landed for a short while. He narrated the tour just enough and answered all questions completely. His aircraft is new and in great shape. Very comfortable. His support staff is top notch- friendly and professional. I highly recommend this company and an air tour of the Misty Fjords National Monument.

“Unforgettable”
Reviewed 3 May 2010

This experience was the highlight of our trip to Alaska in late August 2008. The views and vistas were spectacular. Pictures don't do it justice - the vastness and scale have to be experienced in order to fully appreciate. We went with SeaWind Aviation. HIghly recommend.

“A Must To See By Seaplane”
Reviewed 6 December 2009

About 6 months before leaving for our cruise to alaska, I looked up a number of companies that did the Misty Fjords tour by seaplane. We decided to go with Seawind Aviation with owners Steve and Lesley Kamm. Let me say this, these are two of the nicest and most honest people you'll ever meet. We were picked up at the cruise pier by Lesley and brought to the plane, a short ride away. Steve grew up in Alaska and he knows the area very well, and as our pilot he was excellent and very informative. We were fortunate that day because it was partly cloudy and the views from the seaplane were absolutely fabulous. Steve also landed on a lake where we seen a bear feeding. In all we had a GREAT flight and there are several things everyone should know about Seawind Aviation: 1. Steve is the only pilot and grew up in Alaska
2. Everyone on the plane has a window seat
3. Everyone on the plane has a headset to wear
This was the first time we had met Steve and Lesley, but we felt like we had known them for many years. They are very good to their customers, and we would HIGHLY recommend Seawind Aviation to anyone wanting to see the Misty Fjords

“Unforgettable experience!”
Reviewed 19 September 2009

While visiting Ketchikan, Alaska, I took a floatplane tour of Misty Fjords National Monument. It was spectacular! Perfect flying weather that day helped, of course, but so did the wonderful skill of the pilot, Mike. Not only did he supplement the recorded narrative about Misty Fjords with his own observations, he also landed us incredibly smoothly on Mirror Lake, where we could take pictures and even step outside the plane to enjoy the fresh air. The tour lasts about 75 minutes, and the company's name is Taquan Air. Highly recommended!
