“Good burger in a fish house”
Reviewed 28 July 2014

We needed a quick lunch before the lumberjack show next door, so ducked in here. You order at the counter, then sit down and they bring the food. It was a very popular place and we were lucky to get a table. The burgers were good. Nothing spectacular, but good. We were tired of fish and just wanted a burger. Great atmosphere and a great view of the fishing boat harbor.

“Fish your way, in a casual waterfront setting”
Reviewed 27 July 2014

We hit Ketchikan on a beautiful sunny July day and wanted to avoid the cruise ships crowds. We took the city shuttle bus practically to the front door of this casual restaurant on the water. Fish House aptly describes it. You order your cod, salmon or halibut as a burger, taco, salad, fish and chips or chowder (they have beef burgers and some crab, too but that's about it) at the counter, then sit inside or outside and wait for it to be delivered. Fish was fresh, not super expensive and we loved the harbor setting. Nothing fancy and it felt a tad more authentic than other choices. A longish line had formed by noon, but on a pretty day, who cared. Very happy with this place.

“Ketchikan' Fish House is a treat”
Reviewed 24 July 2014

We arrived in Ketchikan on the MS Zuiderdam on the 22 August 2013. Ketchikan was the final stop in our 12 day land tour & cruise of Alaska & Canada.
My wife loves anything seafood so after a Duck tour and a full $1.00 city bus tour of the city, my wife saw this fish place right on the waterfront.
You order from a fast food place and find a place to sit in the fully glassed dining area in the back of the kitchen, they bring your order to you.
My wife had her fill of Dungeness Crab and I (as a landlubber) had a huge classic hamburger, the food was well prepared, hot and good. My wife was a happy "cruiser".
Being as we are from South Florida, we thought it interesting that in the dining area, they had a poster from the defunct now, CHALK's Seaplane airlines. This seaplane operation WAS a Miami institution for decades, taking off in the waters of GOVERNMENT CUT, at the Port of Miami. The airline flew to many of the islands of the Caribbean. Until a few years ago, on take off a wing actually fell off the seaplane and the plane crashed into the breakwaters of GOVERNMENT CUT. That accident was the end of this small airline. I have posted a picture of the poster.

“Great place when visiting Ketchikan, AK!”
Reviewed 19 July 2014

We had heard of this fish joint prior to visiting Ketchikan and didn't want to miss out when we finally arrived via our cruise ship. The fish and chips (halibut) was exceptional and the fish tacos weren't bad although the tacos were housed in crispy shells rather than freshly steamed flour tortillas. Our friends enjoyed the salmon chowder and could not have been happier with their selection. The place is definitely coastal and comfortable and I would highly recommend it when visiting this charming and delightful stop on the inside passage of Alaska!
