Friendly and helpful staff. Clean room, with plenty of power outlets and good internet access. The cable car ride to town is a must do! Location is right next to tourist attractions. Restaurant menu selection and staff are excellent. I would gladly stay here again.

Room Tip: Ocean view rooms are highly recommended.

Had to have a place to stay overnight in Ketchikan and having stayed at this property previously I booked again. it is in a good location. The rooms are quite basic but the surrounding area makes up for all this.
The only comment is that the restaurant takes last orders at 8.30pm. I arrived at 8.20pm, The restaurant Manager was very accommodating and let me in after taking my bags to the room. Things like this make you want to come back to a property. The food at he Hotel is very good, if not a bit pricey , but well worth it.
A good sleep in a very comfortable bed and all the Fresh Alaskan air coming in your room is stimulating. Would not chose anywhere else in Ketchikan to stay.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the same floor as reception so you do not have to carry bags up any stairs. Als...

Stayed here while in Ketchikan on business for three days. It's a great place with nice views, and serendipitously right beside the municipal conference facility where I was working. I paid the extra $9 for an ocean view room, and it was a nice view. While we were there, they were having staffing shortages and turnover, so the front desk staff were a bit out to lunch and the coffee shop was closed due to lack of employees, but that did not really lessen the quality of the stay. Fridge and microwave in the room were appreciated for avoiding having to eat every meal at a restaurant (there's a big Safeway in town). We called to get the free shuttle from the airport.

Room Tip: Pay the $9 extra for an ocean view

Had a recommendation for the Cape Fox Lodge and decided to spend the extra $$$ for a room overlooking the water. Ended up with an awesome corner room and loved the extra space. Food was really good despite the carpet in the dinning room being well past any chance of recovery. Interesting in that a co-located bar had smoking allowed, which tended to make the far end of the dining room unacceptable for us. However, closer to the entrance, we didn't find the smoke to be an issue.
Service in the dining room was slow but after a day or two we realized that maybe this is just how things happen on Alaska time or maybe just in Ketchikan. Check in wasn't till 3 pm but we managed to get in by 2:30 pm.
While being dubious about the location and having to rely on the tram, we loved the central location and using the tram, which is free to guests. Otherwise $2, which seems to be a draw for the cruisers.
No hesitation in recommending the Cape Fox Lodge. Peter and Amy

The view of Ketchikan from the dining room is lovely. The rooms are nice and roomy. There is shuttle service available and a good restaurant on site. The location is above the hubub of Ketchikan yet just a few minutes walk (after the ride down on the finnicular). I thought the location was perfect - quiet at night and yet close to shopping & dinning. The decor of the lodge featured photos & artifacts of native culture - very interesting. The coffee nook made very good cappucinos.

I spent one night here - and was certainly satisfied. The room wasn't large, but it was adequate. The hotel was nice and clean, the staff was courteous, and the food in the restaurant was tasty. The location is nice - up above town with a good view - but off the beaten path, and so pretty quiet. They have a nice walking path and a tram that can get you down to Creek St. easily enough if/when you want to head out for shopping or other food and drink options.

I'd certainly plan to go back when I'm in Ketchikan again.

Stayed at the Cape Fox Lodge for one night before boarding our cruise. We had reserved seats on the shuttle van from the airport, but it appeared that reservations weren't strictly necessary as there were more passengers than the driver was expecting. Check-in took a bit longer than expected because of the group that arrived simultaneously via the shuttle and there being only two people at the front desk, one of whom was tied up answering questions for guests.

We had requested a room with a water view and were given one on the ground floor in one of the wings. If mobility is an issue, be sure to ask for a room on the ground floor or in the main building because there are no elevators in the wings, and I wound up helping an older couple get their suitcases up to the second floor of our wing.

Our room was clean and comfortable and had a nice view, but the furnishings were outdated and the radiator was quite loud. There is wi-fi in the lobby area but none in the guest rooms.

We arrived late in the evening so had a light dinner in the hotel restaurant. The food was very good, the service was good, and the views were great so we returned there for breakfast the next morning and had another excellent meal. The funicular that runs guests down to the Creek Street area is very convenient and was not crowded at all when we visited (late May). It also was free, although there were signs about a fee, so perhaps one is charged during the summer months.

Overall, a comfortable stay at a nice hotel. I'd definitely return to the Cape Fox Lodge if I visited Ketchikan again

Room Tip: There are no elevators in the wings so keep that in mind if you have trouble getting yourself and/or...
