This historic hotel has all the charm you might expect! The standard rooms are comfortable for one or two people and have private baths. They've added a few modern amenities (TV, blow-dryer, coffee maker), but not so much as to overpower the historic feel. The rooms are heated with radiators, so there's the occasional clank of a pipe, but it passes quickly and only happens in winter. The rooms are clean and well kept. Cookies and coffee are available throughout the day and a continental breakfast is served in the mornings. Parking is conveniently located across the street; just be sure to ask them to get a parking permit for you so that you don't have to move the car during the day. The staff is comprised of some of the friendliest, most helpful people I have encountered in the hospitality business. If you need anything, you need only ask!
Additionally, Annabelle's restaurant is right next door and has the best chowder I've had anywhere, including Boston. It's a nonsmoking environment where you can sit at the bar and chat with the locals to your hearts content over a good beer and great food! The convenience just can't be beat.
If you're looking for a sparkling new hotel, this place isn't for you. If you are looking for a hotel that makes you feel like you've stepped back in time and are experiencing the best of Ketchikan's history, then this is the hotel you should choose.
