I did some research online and decided to book our stay at the Narrows. This was our first trip to Ketchikan and have been impressed with the quality of service. It is farther away from downtown, but they provide a free shuttle whenever you need it! The restaurant adds another bonus for making our visit relaxing.

The Narrows was our first stop on a three week expedition in Alaska and turned out to be one of the most enjoyable locales on the trip. Service was friendly and patient with our large group. Food was piquant; dining room offered great view of waterfront. Also provided fast transportation into and out of the town. Should be considered as a resting/dining stop by all Ketchikan visitors

I researched a variety of hotels to stay while in Ketchikan for a few days and chose Narrows Inn. Upon finding out this is the best seafood place in town, I simply walked from my room to the restaurant bar. The owners were inside and began telling me a bunch of information about their restaurant and town since I had a lot of questions. They were a wealth of knowledge about the area and they told me some hilarious stories. I ended up eating at the Narrows Inn just about every other meal from then until the end of my stay. The rooms are modest and you can choose waterfront or hillside. The price was right and even though I stayed on hillside, I had a spectacular view. Continental breakfast included each day. It was the value that brought me in and the people that made me want to stay. I'd certainly come back to Narrows Inn next time while in Ketchikan.

I feel compelled to begin by telling you that I'm a Sheraton/Hilton kind of traveller. There are no Sheratons or Hiltons or anything like that in Ketchikan. Based on the reviews we booked our stay at the Narrows Inn. I think we made the right decision based on what I saw driving around the town. The town is very industrial at one end and very kitschy/touristy at the other. The Narrows Inn is on the industrial end of town. Nothing is very far away - the place just isn't that big.

Our suite was over the restaurant. We had a wonderful view of the Tongass Narrows and it was so pleasant to watch the seaplanes take off and land and the cruise ships go floating by. I really think the view helped make our stay as pleasant as it was. By the time we were supposed to go I didn't want to leave. The food in the restaurant is good which is great becasue there aren't many restaurants in town, although there are a couple. On our last night we had a bald eagle perched outside - very cool. I would absolutely stay here again if I were in Ketchikan.
