“A true wilderness experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 December 2008

I have been to Munsey's Bear Camp 6 times to either hunt or fish. Each time I have taken family and friends who throughly enjoyed a true wilderness vacation. Both Mike and Robin Munsey have it down pat when it comes to providing a memorable trip. The fishing for salmon and halibut is fantastic. Wildlife from bears to eagles abound. The lodge is a log cabin built by both Mike and Robin. It is warm and roomy and has full bathrooms. Hats off to the chef. Meals are plentiful and delishous. I can't say enough good things about Munsey's Bear Camp.

Wow this was an experience!! It wasn't just bear viewing - it was a true Alaskan experience.

Our hosts took us to fish, bear view, hike, and whale watch. We saw fin whales, lots of eagles, bears, and fished for halibut, salmon, and dollys. Not to mention the beautiful scenery and surroundings.

You can do the "tourist thing", but if you want to experience the real Alaska and real Alaskans you need to get off the mainland or Kodiak Island and into the remoteness of the wilderness.

Robin and Mike Munsey know their stuff and they give 110% to make sure your stay is pleasant and you get to see all kinds of wonderful things. We highly recommend Munsey Bear Camp!

The food was wonderful and the accommodation's were superb for such a remote location. They have a lovely log cabin and other buildings which they have built themselves. Great vacation!!!
