After driving 2 hrs to Chicago, flying to Anchorage, picking up our RV rental, stopping to stock up with groceries, et al, we drove about 45 minutes to Big Bear RV Park. After a long day, we found their office staff of one person to be very welcoming and helpful. The office area was tidy and included a little gift shop. The RV Park was clean and the RV sights had the most space between them than any other of the parks we stayed at this trip. PLUS, their WIFI actually worked, unlike most of the other RV parks on this trip. DOUBLE PLUS, their bathrooms/showers were not only clean, but I like their touch of piping in music to there facilities. Nice touch.

I have travelled from the East Coast to Alaska, in a pop-up. Out of all the RV Parks I have stayed in the US and Canada, this was the BEST. Most RV Parks were parking lots with little grass (if any) and no where to walk your friendly four legged animals. If you want a nice family and pet friendly enviroment stay here. Now if you are expecting a "campground", Big Bear is as close as you are going to get in a RV PARK.

SERVICE: The employees are very hospitaible and knowledgable about surrounding areas. Friendly enviroment. They have Potlucks for the campers, once a month, to introduce Alaska specialties. It is delicious.

BATHROOMS: Very clean and it is great to have it included in the stay and HOT water that last for awhile. NO MORE 1 dollar = 3 minute COLD showers. No Mildew and the radio playing in the background was a plus.

LAUNDRY: Affordable and clean. Enough for everyone, as long as others don't take up 3 or 4 washers because they don't want to wash there darks with colors. You are camping. The only thing, I would like to see is a change machine so if I came in after business hours, I could do laundry.

KIDS: Has a wonderful and clean play area for the kids to let loose for a bit.

PETS: Big Bear has plenty of grass to walk your dogs for awhile and offer FREE doggie bags to clean up after them.

ENVIROMENT: Nice, relaxing and makes you feel like the home away from home. Big Bear has a pavillion with grills if you would like to get together with some friends. Every site has a fire pit and picnic table, at least for trailers. Good enough space in between unless you are driving your house around (Buses with expansions), I don't understand that if your camping why you need your house.

LOCATION: PERFECT!!!! Close to everything and not to far away from sightseeing locations.

RECOMMODATION: I would stay here again and refer to others. ********** 10 Stars

ADVICE TO OTHER CAMPERS: Please be considerate of others staying in the same park. If you have a lot of laundry, do it in shifts. This way someone else has a chance to clean their clothes.
If you are a 115lbs female, use the smaller showers, this way handicap or bigger people can wash comfortably.

PICK UP AFTER YOUR DOG (free bags provided), DON'T LEAVE THEM UNATTENDED and KEEP THEM ON A LEASH.

Thank you for reading my review, I hope you plan to stay at BIG BEAR. Because for the Palmer/Wasilla Area it is the cleanest, friendlist and safest place to stay.

I wholly agree with what the other review said, but that doesn't warrant only "3 stars." 5 stars for being clean, convenient and quiet. When I told them that we would be arriving after hours, she taped all our needed information on the door for us. They have wifi, clean showers, electric. Big Bear made for a great first night in Alaska.

This is not a campground you would want to spend much time at. Handy to the highway - of course this has its advantages and disadvantages. It was good to have a nice hot high pressure shower, fuel up, dump and sleep at. The service was good and friendly. There was a nice grassed area for us to kick a ball.
