“Best place for an outdoor Alaskan wedding.”
Reviewed 8 August 2012

Had my daughters wedding there. The setting was private, quiet and beautiful with the trees framing the house and pioneer peak and a field with a barn and sheep in the background. Beautiful flowers all over make great backdrops for wedding pics. The large Pioneer Suite was a good size for the female wedding party to get ready. Plenty of parking for the guests. Hosts were extremely accommodating. My daughter was extremely pleased with her wedding

"Perfect" pretty much sums it up. My wife and I stayed at Alaska's Harvest B&B for our honeymoon, and we couldn't have been more pleased. It's a few miles off the highway so you're in a secluded area, yet only 5 minutes from downtown Palmer or Wasilla. The room had its own minifridge, continental breakfast (bagels, toast, yogurt, pastries, milk, juice, etc!), even a toaster oven and a microwave. The owners were very friendly, but there was no pressure to visit or lack of privacy. They knew where to send us locally to really experience Alaska to its fullest. And the VIEW! Wow, Pioneer Peak just dominates the horizon with a majestic view from the house, it really can't get any better.

Room Tip: Pioneer Suite can't be beat! So beautiful, huge spacious room secluded from other rooms, private...

My husband and I had the great pleasure of spending two vacations at Alaska's Harvest B&B. We could not have asked for more. Having spent many vacations in many B&B's across the states over the years, we have to rank this as #1. Collette was always prompt in responding to our e-mails on reservations and changes and offering alternatives/solutions, etc. to our scheduling or issues.

From the time we walked in and saw how serene and clean the surroundings were, and then saw the range of snow covered mountains directly behind their home, we were just awe inspired.

The host and hostess were so eager to do anything for us. There was food for breakfast, plenty of room (we were upgraded to the large family area - I think it was the Pioneer Suite) and we truly did not have one problem nor complaint. Collette is someone who is so pleasant and eager to please, that you come away with the feeling you have just met a long lost relative who was the greatest hostess.

Their son was in the military and serving a tour in Iraq or Afghanistan when we were there the first time and he is home now, if I understand correctly. Our thanks to him and his family for his service.

Thanks again for such a beautiful home away from home. We look forward to seeing you again, maybe next year for the third time. Chuck and Jackie in FL

Room Tip: We really enjoyed the large family room and the separate entrance from the back.

we stayed a week at Harvest B&B with our family, it was one of our best trips ever ! we were there for a wedding(on site) and rented all the rooms. the owners were very accommodating and let us use the whole property including the kitchen. the view of pioneer peak was beautiful ! it could not of been a more perfect setting for a wedding. the owners gave us plenty of excellent travel advise and we did several day trips, Palmer is very convenient to many places to see. we look forward to visiting Harvest B&B again!

All my friends who said to visit Alaska recommended that I spend as little time in Anchorage as possible and to visit towns such as Palmer, Wasilla, Seward, etc. This B&B was located in the heart of the Matanuska Valley which includes Palmer and Wasilla and is a short 50 minute drive from the airport in Anchorage. The mountains surrounding this valley are spectacular, the most beautiful of which, Pioneer Peak, could be seen from my room and the community living room of this wonderfully designed B&B. I would recommend Alaska's Harvest B&B to anyone looking to fully experience everything that Alaska has to offer. The owners were very friendly, but also gave us our space, which can sometimes be an issue at other B&B's when you just want some solitude. Thanks again for the lovely stay!

I attended a wedding here. Amazing mountain views. Beautiful grounds including sheep, so peaceful. Inside continues the peaceful Alaskan atmosphere. Pool table and lots space for gatherings/hanging out. Family run by super friendly people. The owner spins & dye's the wool from her own sheep! Also makes her own pottery that she sells. Just for an idea about the type of place this is. One of a kind!

The room was very spacious, on the first floor, and had a seperate entrance so we could come and go as we pleased. The room was large enough to sleep four easily. The room had an ensuite bathroom and a small kitchen, a television and shelves of books, including guide books, Our hosts were very friendly and made us feel welcome, and gave us access to a computer which we could use in our own time. Breakfast was "help yourself from a well stocked fridge"(fruit and yoghurts) and a wide variety of cereals, and danish pastries which we appreciated because we were able to have a leisurly breakfast on the large table which was next to a window. The view was of their meadow containing sheep and a large heart mowed in the grass and a clear view of the mountain.
We were travelling with two friends who couldn't manage stairs well and they were given a suite on the ground floor. On the ground floor also was a pool table for the use of guests. Our hosts were gracious enough to allow two extra guests (my brother and grandaughter) at no extra cost, when they were driven out of their tent (pitched on their property) by the inclement weather.
We liked it so much we stayed twice, on our way to and from Homer. My brother had stayed there two years ago, which is why we went back.

Room Tip: Upstairs first floor, seperate entrance. Contains a queen size bed and two twin beds, good for a fam...
