“One of our best vacations ever!”
Reviewed 10 July 2014

From the moment we booked our vacation to the time we left, Niraamaya has been an amazing experience. We stayed in the Rock Garden rooms and when we opened the doors, our jaws dropped--it was that beautiful. The property itself is absolutely stunning. The beach, the pool, the gardens, mountain views--all spectacular.

The restaurant was great--with a wide variety of dishes to choose from (south indian, north indian, western, etc). The dishes are very pricey for India. Liquor selection is limited. Food taste was great and service was even better. Special thanks to Shafeeq, Sarathlal, Deepak, and Siju for their excellent service.

We were able to book a number of getaways from the hotel itself. With the help of Anitha, we were able to see Kanyakumari, backwaters and elephant rides in Poovar, and take a city tour of Thiruvananthapuram. Thank you Anitha for making our trip so memorable.

We took advantage of the great spa they have, having had multiple ayurvedic treatments (massage, shirodhara, facials) and they were all excellent.

The best thing about this hotel, by far, is their customer service. They are so very nice and they made a trip fantastic. Thank you all!

Room Tip: If you like modern and large rooms, go for the Rock Garden. If you want traditional Kerala style, b...

mirroring other reviewers, I would say this place is one of my favourite hotels I've ever stayed in. It really is worth staying here for as long as you can.

The rooms are great - the outside shower is fantastic. Everything you'd expect and more from a luxury hotel resort.

The infinity pool is very cool and you get great views out to sea.

The restaurant is excellent. I didn't go for the specials nights, as I thought they were overpriced. Even the european dishes were good. They have invested in very good chefs. The breakfast is really good too - you can get everything from great southern indian staples - idli, dosa and Poori Masal to steak and eggs.

The beaches are great too, swimming is quite dangerous though but the lifeguard will come down with you if you want.

One word of warning - we went into Kovalam one night - and it was pretty grim. I would advise if you go there, to only go in the day and don't eat in any of the restaurants.

This hotel offers you an experience. The hotel is nestled on a hill overlooking the majestic Arabian sea. The sound of the waves constantly in the background just keep on reminding you that you are in an awesome place. The gardens are a pleasure to walk in and the hammocks are strategically positioned for you to enjoy and take in nature. The service is good and staff generally do their best to meet your needs. They are very sincere in wanting you to enjoy your stay. The food is good and fresh. Rooms are clean and my favorite is the outdoor/indoor. The spa is good and the therapist are professional. This is definitely the place for you if you are looking for some quiet relaxing time with a loved one or family. My only advice is to those travelling with elderly parents or elderly guests... the passage to the bathroom (which is within the room) requires you to cross a 1 foot barrier/raising. My mother found this a bit troublesome as she had to hold on to something/one to manage the crossing. during the dark it does become difficult to maneuver for the elderly. Perhaps you may need a room that has a flat path to the bathroom. Otherwise it truly a paradise. Don't miss this place.

The rooms are great complete with bathgardens in each room. the service is excellent and the staff is polite and helpful. The resort offers a beautiful view of the Arabian sea. Going here from the city for a weekend is definitely worth it, the spa and weather make up for it.

While the world is exploding in the mania of ugliness in concrete and steel, it is heartning to find, tucked away a patch of vernacular beauty. Nestled on a small hillside against which the arabian sea pounds, the view is both dramatic and meditative, a contradiction only beauty can reconcile. The cottages have drawn heavily from the local architectural tradition harmonising with the landscape and the climate. And yes there is luxury, good food and good service. You will not be disappointed.

This is one of best place i have visited. It is a complete place with all the facilities and leisure one would want, it is the best place to enjoy nature, it brings us very close to nature. Just too good..... Rooms especially rock garden are the bestt...... superb... very spacious and food is awesome served fresh individually for the complimentary breakfast too........
Swimming pool is natural and very clean and good. We had a short stay here, but planning for just going to this resort shortly.....
Only problem is getting there, there are no signboards anywhere and it becomes difficult to reach the place, once you are there just forget everything, it is the best place...... the beach wow...

Room Tip: Pls go for Rock garden it is too good and spacious....

Want a break from the busy hectic life?? Niraamaya is the place for you. Its beautiful, serene, cool. The breeze itself is rejuvenating. One of the best sea facing resorts. And rooms are just so neat and cozy. I would recommend the Heritage Classic room. The staffs are cordial and warm. Food is something I would suggest could be better.

Room Tip: Go for Heritage Classic room
