We had a relaxing stay at this Ayurvedic resort staying in a beach side bungalow. We had Ayurveda therapy that included daily massage and hair and body cleansing. Our yoga teacher 'Santosh' was excellent as was my masseur 'Regi'. Very helpful and polite staff. bugalow was cleaned every day. Only downside was lack of Internet which was available in the sister hilltop location 300 metres up the road. The menu was divided into Indian and Ayurveda and one could eat in either the beach side or hilltop restaurants or have a meal delivered to the bungalow. Resort also has a cottage on a lake. Hardly any guests in May. Hefty waves in May and therefore not ideal for swimming. Rooms are simple but perfectly adequate. Our bungalow had a verandah with beach view. Best time for swimming probably December to March. Had monsoon type weather in May, with hefty showers in the afternoon. Frequent power cuts during thunder storms. Very beautiful location.

Room Tip: Choose a bungalow facing the beach. Our room was 302.

We stayed here for two nights. Property is located on a hill and has two areas - hill property and beach property located 300 metres from each other. We were welcomed warmly on arrival. We had taken rooms on the beach property. We could just walk out from our rooms onto their private beach. Location of this hotel is its USP. Rooms were decent and clean. Do not expect much amenities as in a hotel room. However, it was comfortable stay for us.

Hotel is located away from the city and market, so one cannot walk out and hire a taxi. You will need to depend upon hotel transport for going to the city, market or sightseeing.

Not so good points:
Food was disappointing. Keep your expectations down to earth for food. As hotel is away from any nearby market, so there was no other choice but to take food from the hotel kitchen.

Hotel staff Sunil and Abbas were in general very helpful and courteous. However, we were not guided well to plan our sightseeing. I enquired with Sunil about visit to Trivandrum but found the city market closed on Sunday evening. It was travel of 50 km to & from the city that went in vain. Next day we hired the hotel taxi to visit Kanyakumari. However our driver did not seem to be familiar with the location and was often worried about finding the parking than showing us around.

Room Tip: Ask for room nos 401-404, 201-202. They are much closer to the beach.

Stayed here briefly after a hectic tour of both north and South India .The staff were excellent looked after all our needs. The place was very quiet we were the only people in the upper part of the hotel you have to walk down the hill to the beach. The rooms are clean spacious .The restaurant serves excellent food.If I had more time I would have some of their Ayurvedic therapy that they specialise in

Room Tip: Try the upper hotel

Me and my husband stayed in Thapovan from 21st March till 24th March and the place is simply beautiful... The weather is a little hot compared to Jan - Feb and not all the rooms are AC. They have two properties - Hill view property and the beach view. Our pick was the beach view because we love the sea. Our room wasn't ac but we could hardly feel the heat since it would become pretty cool in the nights. During the day, we would laze around on the hammock under the coconut trees. There is no television in any of the room, I guess they have purposely done that so that one is able to enjoy the beauty of nature without sitting in the room glaring at the TV. I think it is a perfect idea not to have a TV and network in your phone while you are here. This place has a lot to offering eras of scenic beauty. The sea is wild and clear. It is absolutely green. The staff is friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place only if you are a nature lover and not looking for a luxurious stay. The stay here however will be very comfortable.

Room Tip: Choose an AC room at the hill property if it is must for you. The resort has non ac rooms at the bea...

We stayed in the lower part of the resort in a very nice bungalow in a coconut garden. All clean and wellkept. The food is mostly lokal and very tasty. The staff are friendly, and all speak some english. The reception spoke very good english. The beach has a lifeguard that will guide you to where to go swimming and look after you all the time. There are free wifi in the upper part of the resort.
