We are sorry to say that our money at alke villas was not well spent. They were unprepared for our reservation and thus put us in a villa with a broken front door, clogged shower drains, and dirty beds (hair in bed, dirt marks on sheets). The air con was broken in one room and they continued to say they would fix but never did-it was so hot and uncomfortable so we moved our mattress into our friends villa and slept on the floor. Their compensation? 10% discount, that was all! The restaurant is beyond poor/low quality. The only plus was the mini pool and our own good company...thank goodness we have good senses of humor. We would definitely not recommend this
place to friends or family unless they seriously improved their facilities.

Should be called Algae Villas. My family stayed there for 8 of the worst days we can remember (on holidays). It was unhygenic. No changes of towels or cleaning of villa. Rubbish was not disposed of for eight days.

Lets start with the security, first of all there was a Non Existant security guard, like the villas had promised, there were no safes for your money, however they miraculously appeared on the last day after we got robbed while we were sleeping and so did the villa next door. Too far out from everything! In house food terrible. There is no restaurant. Teenagers cooked our food and it was ghastly. There is no Spa or free massages as promised. Overall welcome to Algae Villas with a Faulty Towers Twist. Not a family place. Choose elsewhere!!

I sent 10 days there with my husband and another couple and we loved it. It was nice to be able to have somewhere quiet to come back to. The villas have a great transportation system (no fee to but small fee for pick up) to the major cities. You can also choose to have a full day or half day tour guide. We got the tour guide for a few of the days and it was much more than we expected. He was great and I would highly recommend him to anyone!

We ate in the villas a few days and had breakfast there every morning. The food was great. We also took a cooking class the villa offers with the head chef and it was a great learning experience on how to cook certain dishes.

The villa is going to have a bar, hopefully in the near future, which would be perfect for these villas. Overall we had a great time at the villas and would highly recommend them to anyone that want to have some where nice and quiet to come back to.

We went to Bali for a family wedding and booked three of the six villas at Alke Villas Pererenan. We were so impressed! After driving down a long, bumpy dirt road amongst the rice paddies, we were wondering what we'd got ourselves in for. Coming through the gates, we were thrilled to see the beautiful villas set amongst a tropical garden with gorgeous swimming pool.

We were picked up from the airport by Eddie, the driver associated with Alke Villas. Eddie was great and we hired him as our driver for the rest of our stay. At the villas we were greeted by wonderful Ngurah, who made sure our stay was comfortable, answering any questions we had and bringing our breakfast each morning.

The villas are in three separate buildings with one "villa" downstairs and one upstairs. Except for the 2br villa on the end (which we did not see inside) the others are more like hotel rooms with one large room with queen size bed, large wardrobe, cabinet with TV, minibar, plus a medium size outdoor bathroom with bath and separate shower. There is a small patio with two chairs on the ground floor, balcony with two chairs on the first floor.

The villas are very well built, clean with good quality furniture and bedding, and the outdoor bathroom was great. The free mini bar was stocked with water, other drinks, fruit platter and snacks. The pool was terrific and we swam there nearly every day.

The location is very quiet and peaceful. It's possible to do some nice short walks around the rice fields, but it is necessary to hire a driver or scooters to come and go from the villas. The staff there will help organize transport. Echo Beach and Canggu are about 10 minutes drive away and Seminyak about 25 minutes drive with traffic. There is no restaurant, shop or bar on the premises, but if you want to stay in, Ngurah will help with ordering in food and drinks and has the menus of several nearby restaurants that did great Indonesian food and pizza.

As we were a group, I would have liked an outdoor furniture setting where we could sit together comfortably. There is an area near the entrance where we ate breakfast (I think it's normally served on the villa patios), but this was really where the staff spent their time and not ideal for guests. In the evenings, we ended up carrying chairs across from one villa to the other so we could sit together. I understand the owners are planning to get an outdoor setting, which would be great as there is plenty of room for this in the garden.

Overall, I would highly recommend Alke Villas, particularly for couples who plan to go out and about and want somewhere nice and quiet to come back to.
