“Small and not clean”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 March 2013

We visited the hotel as part of the sinh tourist mekong delta tour.
The room was very small and not clean at all. The bathroom was open at top, so that every noise goes directly in the bedroom. Mickey mouse towels are not my cup of coffee and the shower is dangerous because of the wires of the hot water boiler.
Breakfast was soso.
To sum up, ot was one of the worst hotels we stayed in southeast Asia.

Stayed one night as part of Sinh Tourist Mekong trip.
Room was basic but perfectly adequate for one night stay. It was clean, air con was very good and breakfast choices were okay. We enjoyed our banana pancakes!

Part of SinhTourist's inexpensive Mekong and HCMC/Phnom Penh tours. SinhTourist describes it as a one star hotel and the guides ensure that expectations are low. We therefore endorse other reviews. It ain't bad.

Room was small, but clean. Functioning A/C. Hot water shower. Quiet. Breakfast was good.

Surrounding area is uninspiring.

Would we stay here by our own choice? No. But then we are not normally low budget travellers.

Stayed here with the sign tourist Mekong tour. After reading all the negative reviews I was prepared for the worst but was pleasantly surprised. Yes it is basically but we had good air con, and a very comfortable bed, good tv, clean large bathroom with good electric shower. Breakfast was actually nice too, simple choices but totally fine. The town itself wasn't overly interesting but pleasant enough for a stroll after dinner. For one night this place is totally fine. If was want more, pay for a more expensive tour.

Like other reviewers, I ended up here on a SinhTourist trip. It was perfectly satisfactory -- clean, comfortable bed, a/c that worked fine and a fan. The wifi also worked well in my room. Nothing brilliant, but nothing to complain about, either. And I'd argue with the "nothing town" comment. Wander over to the square in the evening, where there's a night market, a temple and a big Quan Yin staute with tons of people eating and praying. It's a delightful scene.

This is a disgusting little hotel in a rubbish-strewn, zero interest town. Like other reviewers, I stayed here as part of a Mekong tour organised by Singh Tourist. My room was damp, smelly and windowless. The mattress was a block of foam and I tried not to look at the sheets and too closely. Part of the wall opposite the bed was made of glass bricks which let in light that kept me awake half the night....aaargh. Avoid. Disgusting place.

We stayed in the Ngoc Phu for one night and paid 180,000 VDN for a double room with hot water and fan. There was also a TV and a small fridge in the room. It was clean, comfortable and convenient. The pillows were soft and the mattress not too hard. The staff were really pleasant and we loved the photocopied hand drawn map of Chau Doc.

There are some really good cheap eating places in Chau Doc. We really liked eating the fish noddle soup in the market (20,000 VDN) and ate at the floating restaurant, which is a little more expensive (e.g. 80,000 for shrimp in tamarind sauce, 40,000 VDN for water spinach & garlic).

Chau Doc was such a pleasant experience for us. We enjoyed buying fresh fruit at the market, bread from the bakery, provisions from local grocery shops ... all at local prices ... not inflated tourist prices.

We hope you too have a similar experience
