This place probably was once grand, and it certainly has a great view. Unfortunately it is becoming a bit tired and dirty. The carpet in our room was dirty, threadbare and needed a bloody good vacuum as it had a lot of hair on it. There were cockroaches in the bathroom and i saw them scurry under my bed.
The terrace was nice and breakfast was pretty good too. Also the location was good, not far from the market but on a quiet road.
We didn't stay here by choice, it was booked as part of a 4 night tour, so if you're trekking sapa under your own steam then there are lots of other, nicer places.

We booked a Sapa tour through our hotel in Hanoi, and this was the hotel we were provided in the package. We would not have made the choice to stay here. Location is great, right at the end of the shops and easy access to a Cat Cat village from here. There is no heat in the hotel, so most staff were wearing large jackets, even the restaurant staff. We asked for a heater for our room, and they promptly placed an electric heating mattress pad on the bed. Our meals were included in the package: breakfast portions were tiny, lunch and dinner were a set menu and same bland food every meal. We skipped out on some meals and ate at other restaurants in the town. This hotel is very run down, but an ok place to lay your head for the night if you're looking for a budget hotel.

Our travel agent in Hanoi arranged this hotel for us. It was disastrous!

1) water heater hazardous - sometimes totally cold and sometimes scorching hot!

2) no lift and no porter - good luck climbing the stairs with your luggage

3) super limited choice of food

4) rude staff

5) super cold room with no heating in winter

And to think we supposed to get a Deluxe room... The room is much
More basic compared to anywhere we have stayed before!

We stayed here because we booked everything last minute and Sapa luxury was fully booked.

The room was worse than basic and the shower just dangerous with the AC falling out the wall. So dirty!!

We were on the top floor and had no view from the room because of the large communal terrace. It is great from up there, if you don't mind the scattered laundry drying.

Far better places in Sapa.

Ps. Breakfast was terrible. We asked for two bananas... Never happened.

We booked this hotel through a 2 night tour to sapa. I read the reviews after booking and was worried! However we were more than happy with the hotel, staff, location and our room. We had a bathtub which was nice on a cold day. The staff gave us extra blankets as it was very cold when we came to sapa. We have lovely food and free hot drinks. Great view when it's not foggy :-)

This hotel is terrible, it's dirty, out dated and has zero charm. All I can say is don't do it. Do the home stays instead, they are so much fun. Had I known when I booked our trip to sapa we were stying here for one night I would have changed it.
