My family has been using this hotel each time we come back to Sapa over the last 3 years. The manager, Mr. Dao, is incredibly nice and is the friendliest hotel manager I have ever met. He works hard to make sure all our needs are met and speaks amazing English. For an extra few dollars you can get a room that overlooks the entire valley, which is such an amazing view that I would probably pay more than what the hotel actually costs just to see it. The staff are very nice, although many don't speak great English, but Mr. Dao is always around to translate if need be. The rooms are spacious, the beds are comfortable, tea and coffee is provided, and I've enjoyed every breakfast that I've eaten there. The stir fried instant noodles are my favorite. Sometimes the power cuts out, but that's true with all the hotels in Sapa since it's up in the mountains. If you need to get a taxi or motorbike, Mr. Dao is always happy to help. He responds promptly to emails and has always answered his phone when we call. There is a shop in the basement that is owned by two lovely H'mong women. The space was given to them for free and the hotel makes no profit off if them, which is very admirable. The hotel was originally created to help the ethnic minorities in the area get better job opportunities, and 70% of their staff are ethnic minorities who are trained in multiple foreign languages during their time working there. We always choose this hotel not only for the great service, but for their admirable work ethics. It's located in a quite area of Sapa, but is only 5 minutes walking distance from the center square of town.More
