While the staff were excellent and the room was in tiptop shape, there is zero noise prevention. We were woken up in the middle of the night, in the early morning and struggled to fall asleep because of the crashing, thumping and yelling that reverberated through the hotel and into our room. However they did provide us with extra blankets and travel advice without a worry. Also breakfast buffet had an great selection.

We arrived at around 8 am and the ground floor area was chaotic. Our rooms were not ready as you would expect given our time of arrival. The check in desk suggested we have breakfast at USD 4.50. There was not much available and what was there was cold. As we sat there we noted tables were not cleared or wiped as people left. There was also a hand bag left on the floor next to the reception desk that no one was concerned about even when we mentioned it. The rooms were as you would expect although no in room safe. The staff did make us sandwiches for our trip on the last day. Also there is major building across the road which is noisy and the road is quite dirty. If you want to be close to the town centre don't stay here it is a walk with climb to the main area.

Room tip: Rooms with views. They tend to be away from the building and road noise.

Bad luck. I got rains, street puddles, and building construction when I was here. The town is overgrowing to accommodate tourismomegaly. The hotel was OK. I got a room with balcony with great views. But that was pointless. It was raining the whole day, literally, from 6 am to 7 am the next day. After that, we got sunshine. The room is nice and clean equipped with heater. Bathroom is particularly clean though with instant hot water. The front of the hotel were full of hill tribe people trying to sell handcrafts to the guests and blocking the entrance somehow. This happened to every hotel with lots of tourists. Breakfast was quite fair though. Noodles and bread and rice to try.

This hotel met our needs. I found the staff to be helpful and friendly. Our room facing the mountain was also quite nice for a low range hotel. Our only problem was the restaurant. It has to be the worst Vietnamese food I've ever had. Even worse than I can cook.
Would still recommend for the rooms but eat elsewhere.

Our stay here was unfortunately disappointing. Upon arrival staff tried to have us upgrade our room, but when we said that we would stick with our booking. They still took us to an upgrade room and then rang and said are we happy with the room and asked for more money. We then had to move back to our booked room. There was also a mix up with our evening meal which was included in our tour, but when we got back at 7.30pm we were told the kitchen had closed. Also there was construction work which was noisy and disruptive outside.
