We spent 3 days 2 nights here at this hotel. We had deluxe mountain view room with a terrace and the view was just fantastic overlooking the valley and the mountains beyond.
The room was very. spacious, huge bed and bathroom facilities very good. Breakfast was downstairs underneath the hotel and also commanded great views over the valley. Breakfast was very substantial with a very good choice of western and Asian foods.
Staff very friendly and helpful at the front desk.
Only a minor point but the pillows are very very soft.
Good position in town down the far end but within walking distance to the restaurants, massage places, bakeries, handicraft shops.
You will be hassled out on the street by the local hill tribe people but do not feel obligated to buy
The local market heading up the hill out of the town is a great place to visit.
It is worthwhile visiting the local Sunday market at Bac Ha via Lao Cai over an hours drive from Lao Cai. The colourful costumes make this a very worthwhile outing. Only on Sundays.
This a very worthy 3 star hotel.
You will not be disappointed. Lift now working, which is an outside glass enclosed. Has great views

Room Tip: Rooms with mountain view excellen

Sapa is somewhere quite special - Up on the Chinese boarder of Vietnam and about a 45 min drive from Lao Cai, This is a mountain village that reminds you of a small village high above Kathmandu - A mecca of mountaineering, tourism and traditional Vietnam it proved one of the highlights of our trip - A big reason for this was the hospitality at Bamboo Sapa Hotel.

This place is definitely simple, but its tidy, clean and pretty modern in the rooms. Weak locking doors were a wee bit of a concern but all rooms equipped with a solid safe. The most amazing thing about this place though is the view. You open the door to your room look to the window and are looking down to the mountain valleys below - Later if you do the treck you can try and plot your course from the window. It also has a balcony so you can just sit and admire the view too if thats your preferance.

We didnt have Dinner at the Hotel but I can say breakfast in the restaurant was as everything - great.

All in all a great place - helpful desk staff too. Dont be alarmed if they ask for your passport though as in Vietnam is common place for theses to be taken to the police station for verification - Our only gripe was taht some of these came back to us just a wee bit bent but in a rainy mountain village I guess that can be looked over too - A must do!

We stayed ther in April, 24 of us from Australia, everything was great, even the meals we had there ( we ate there for 2 days ) it was a bit of a walk to our rooms down steps but there was an elevator being put in at the time so it should be fine by now, all in all a good hotel for the price.

Room Tip: all rooms were ok

We stayed here for a couple of nights during our recent stay. Ok, it's a little tired but investments are being made eg. Lift being installed. Room was big, airy & clean, with its own balcony. View overlooking the terrace and valley was stunning once the ethereal mists cleared.
A bit of a hike to the restaurant which served a hearty breakfast - set you up for a day of trekking and sightseeing. All in all a pleasant place to stay towards the lower end of the town.

Room Tip: Overlook the valley if you can

Dear MarkT376,

We really appreciate the review on your stay at our Bamboo Sapa Hotel. All in all, it captured pretty much what we have to offer and what we're doing to better serve your needs as well as other customers of ours. Nonetheless, you should be informed that we're converting rooms on the ground floor where the old reception was, into a new restaurant with a spectacular view overlooking the valley so that you can have your hearty breakfast without having to hike two floors down any more. We hope to have a chance to serve you here in the foreseeable future.

Thank you for staying with us and we look forward to hearing from you soon.

Best regards,

we had the fourth floor. no lift so lots of lugging of luggage up stairs. needs repairs. Breakfast was basic but filling. the tablecloth had stains and considering that we were the first people at breakfast it wasnt a nice greeting. the view was wonderful but was covered in mist most of the time. Our door to the balcony wouldnt open as didnt have a handle so we climbed out the window to get onto the balcony.

Stayed here 12th march, as part of a tour we were on, room 525 on the top floor. Unfortunately the lift wasn't working when we stayed, so a very long trek up to our room, then again it's all exercise. It was a very large room with a massive bed, 2 armchairs, coffee table, desk, flatscreen television. The bathroom was extremely large, with a very big walk in shower enclosure, toiletries included. Amazing views at the back of the hotel from a large balcony, local houses, fields, rice fields and mountains. Complimentary bottles of water, tea, coffee and bananas. No safe in room! A computer in reception to use free of charge.

Breakfast, freshly made omelettes, eggs, bacon, sausage, noodle soup, ham, tomatoes, cucumber, chicken stir fry, cauliflower, carrots, brocolli, bread, toast, yoghurts, fruit, cakes, tea, coffee and juices. You could have your breakfast and dinner in one hit!

A really enjoyable stay here and all close to the nearby shops and restaurants. Would recommend staying here in Sapa.

regards
Baslady

Room Tip: All rooms at back have amazing views, the higher the floor the better the view!

Dear Baslady,

Thank you very much for staying with us and sharing your experience in the review. We are working on renovation now to make your stay even more enjoyable in the future. To be more precise, a lift is being installed and will be operational soon so that you do not have to climb all those stairs up the floors. New internet wiring and wifi are being fit and upgraded so that you can connect with friends with ease in the rooms using your mobile device. Of course, you still have access to the free of charge computer in the newly-decorated, more spacious hotel lobby. We are also building up new restaurant next to the lobby with better menu, including better buffet breakfast.

We hope to have a chance to host you here again and to make your stay more memorable.

Best regards,
Long Nguyen
