The Holiday Hotel, Sapa, Vietnam, where we stayed from 25/10 to 27/10 needs to improve its facilities. The bathroom is so poorly lit one can't see one's face when shaving or combing one's hair. the room we had did not have a safe box. There is a jug in the room for tea making, but no teabags or coffee bags or sugar or cups. The service was lackadaisical.

we booked this hotel with the travel packages . After a 9 hours overnight train from Hanoi to lao chai station and 1 hour mini bus ride to holiday sapa hotel, When we arrived at the hotel, a cute baby boy walked towards us who wore a cute sweater with wording I love my dad. He gave us such a warm welcome we couln`t help saying so---cute.what an awsome sight to watch I was told he is the grandson of the hotel owner.

we had a breakfast before get the room key in there. It's a simple spread buffet breakfast and I like the vietnamese pancake on the buffet.

Hotel room with mountain view was simply amazing. Room was just a bit dusty (some construction was going on ) but quite comfortable .Hotel staff was friendly hotel location is fantastic.

Room Tip: choose rooms that face the mountain

Despite a strategic locations, unfortunately the hotel is under renovation during our stay there. Front reception area is dirty due to the dust from the upper floor workd being carried out. Workers moving in and out of the hotel carrying the debris/wooden poles thus contributing to the dirt on the floor making it dusty. Should have carried out the removal of debris during late night or early morning so as not to discrupt the many visitors/guest staying there. Lock your belongings/luggage at all times to avoid any items missing.

Room Tip: 4th n 5th floor ideal view for the terrain and hills. Nice place to view sunrise too

We had very good rooms at this slightly faded hotel. The hotel was part of our tour to Sapa so we took a leap of faith with the tour operator. Our rooms faced the extraordinary mountain ranges and had a large shared terrace. Rooms were big. Beds were clean and pretty comfy. Yes, the bathrooms were a bit on the musty side and in need of a refurbishment, but we spent very little time in them as we were busy traipsing around the hills. Service staff were lovely and very helpful. Breakfast had quite a good selection. They had a jaffle maker for toasted sandwiches which my son loved! Tea and coffee were a bit weak but we found that in many places. The Holiday Sapa has seen better days I'm sure and would benefit from a lick of paint and a bit of an update, but it is good value for money, has a great position and helpful, friendly staff. Very little to complain about here.

Room Tip: Ask for a terrace room on the second floor

I booked this hotel with the travel packages from sinh tourist. After i took a 9 hours overnight train from Hanoi to Sapa, it's was so happy i can take a break in the hotel.

When I arrived to the hotel, a little baby walked to me who wear a cute sweater with wording “i love hug”. He gave me such a warm welcome. I thought he is the son of the hotel owner.

I had a breakfast before get the room key in there. It's a simple buffet breakfast and I like the traditional vietnamese pho on the buffet.

After I saw the guest room with view , I feel its comfortable and surprise. The mountain view is absolutely amazing. You can access the free WIFI in the room also. The cleanliness of room is acceptable. Just the bathroom quite old and cannot get the hot when i was took a shower in the midnight.

The location of the hotel is really convenient and you can found many different restaurants and massage shops near the hotel. Actually, the town is not so big, you can easy to get traveling attraction from the hotel such as cat cat market, church and lack..... Just ask for simple map from the front desk .

Overall , I had a great mermory in Sapa and this hotel.

Stayed here for 3 nights while they were in the middle of renovations.
Rooms spacious, however a little dirty - I wanted to sweep the floors and under the bed, hot water in shower intermittent.
Cups and saucers in room but no tea or coffee in sight.
Staff okay but little communication between them as we discovered when we requested a late checkout as we were told one price which was a bit cheaper by obviously a manager only to have the receptionist say No you are wrong !
Dont bother about having a massage there - the girl that did mine had a 'can't be bothered' attitude and accepted two private calls on her mobile during my massage.
The place is a bit tired and really does need a fresh coat of paint. The breakfasts are boring.
On a positive note - the views from our balcony were spectacular
