“Pleasantly Surprised!”
Reviewed 18 August 2009

The cabins are clean, comfortable, quiet, well maintained, roomy and affordable. Accommodations offered more than I expected. Each cabin was equipped with a mini refrigerator, dishes and sliverware, microwave, toaster, cable tv, gas grill and a beautiful basket of flowers hanging by the front door to greet you everyday. The main lodge has a washer and dryer. The river is a short walk. There's plenty of good fishing... We kayaked from Skilak Lake to Bing's Landing and saw people pulling in fish left and right all along the river. Also one of the nights we stayed, another guest caught a 5 lb Rainbow trout off the dock. Last but certainly not least, the owners are very personable and attentive. The hospitality is more than exceptional. I highly recommend this place!

We were looking for accomodations for the summer when we found Redfish Lodge. As a business traveler I found Redfish to be the best find ever.

I work in a stressful job that takes me away from my family for long periods of time. I need a place to unwind and find peace. I found this at Redfish. They welcomed me into their resort and into their lives. I have been here since May 2009 and will be here until the end of September. There is no better place to be except home.

This is their first summer and I have met people from all over the country and some from other countries. What we all have in common is the hospitality shown by Steve and Lea Stuber and Steve's Mom Marcia. They love people and it shows every day.

The cabins are clean, the beds comfortable, and the atmosphere peaceful and fun. I would recommend this place to anyone from families with children to groups of friends getting away for a fishing adventure. You can't go wrong with Redfish Lodge.

My buddy and I had childhood dreams of going fishing in Alaska. Our dreams finally came true in July of 2009. We booked our trip at Redfish Lodge and couldn't wait until our trip. The cabins were clean and well heated. Our host, Steve Stuber and his crew were very attentive to our needs and made sure that we had the trip of a lifetime. Steve provided thermoses for our coffee and coolers for a packed lunch, rods, reels and any gear we needed to fish the Kenai River, which was within walking distance to our cabin. Steve also made sure that every guided trip that we had went smoothly. Steve's crew cleaned and vacuum sealed all of our fish and it was done immaculately. We also enjoyed the company of Steve's mother. She was very friendly and kept us laughing. I highly recommend Redfish Lodge for your Alaska adventure.

We randomly chose Redfish Lodge after emailing a couple times back and forth. We really didn't know what to expect on our first trip to Alaska. Steve and Leah were great, as well as Steve's mother, Marcia, who was visiting and helping out at the time.
The cabins were clean and well stocked. The rates were good. Steve arranged for our fishing trips and everything exceeded our expectation. We came back with over 50# of fish which was vacuum packed and ready for us at the lodge when we departed. While we were seeking quiet and privacy, we were treated more like family than guests. I would definitely recommend Alaska Redfish Lodge and hope to stay there again soon.

We found the cabins to be very clean and well taken care off. The Redfish is family owned, and they really make YOU feel like part of the family! They are all very helpful. My husband and I stayed here a couple of nights while in pursuit of wildlife to photograph. We were looking for a place away from all the noise, and we certainly got that at the Redfish! These cabins are fairly new and have very nice bathrooms and kitchen areas. The beds were very comfortable and the sheets were lovely. Thank you Steve and Leah . . . and Mom, too!

New owners in 2009 have made the Redfish Lodge a real hidden gem. The cabins are clean, well stocked and privately spaced. Each has a small kitchen, a nice gas grill and indoor and outdoor eating areas. Cabins are heated for cool Alaskan nights.

The grounds are welcoming for families with children and couples looking to get away. There is a new playground and a fantastic community fire pitt which often has a beautiful camp fire burning. Moose and Jackrabbits frequent the property as you can see from my photos.

Plus, the new owners run a fantastic fish processing service for their guests which is the cleanest I have seen. Also, you can trust their recommendations for local tours and guides.

We live in the Anchorage area and discovered the gem of Alaska Redfish Lodge this past summer while getting away from the "big city"! The new owners, Steve and Leah, have made the cabins our "home away from home". The cabins are large, extremely clean and have all the necessities to grill for dinner the salmon you caught on the Kenai yards away from your cabin doorstep! The owners also have fish processing on site, which is extremely convenient. There is also a large firepit and children's playground for families to enjoy. We look forward to many more stays at Alaska Redfish Lodge!
