We’ve spent ten beautiful days of our holiday at Hobbit Evi, Çıralı this year in June. The most beautiful thing about this place is its amazing closeness to the sea. In some parts of Çıralı, you have to walk a long while to reach the sea whereas if you are staying at Hobbit Evi, it only takes three minutes to jump the turquoise blue sea.
In its charming garden covered with eucalyptus and lemon trees, you can lie on a hammock and read for hours without hearing any disturbing music or children noises (children below 7 are not allowed).
They serve the richest breakfast I have ever seen which includes home made jam, fruits and omelet. For dinner they have fresh and nice cold starters, salads and grills (These are not included in the room price, but the prices are reasonable).
At sunset, sitting in the cool of the peaceful garden and sipping your drink is such a wonderful event that to fully understand what I mean you have to experience it.

The service was friendly and our rooms were clean and comfortable, with beds, chest of drawers. lots of space to hang clothes, shower with plenty of hot water and a table and two chairs on the terrace outside the room as well as hammocks, traditional Turkish loungers and lots of comfortable chairs in the large garden. Hobbit Evi is on one of the most beautiful beaches in Turkey, halfway between the ancient ruins of Olympus one end and the Chimera (eternal flame) the other, both within walking distance. The biggest surprise was the cooking, which was delicious - we ate in every night. The only thing we did not like was leaving. There are only four rooms altogether so most of the tick boxes below don't apply. You are looked after by the owners, who also cook. See their internet site for photos: www.hobbitevi.com/

10 acres of lemon garden, with always less than 10 people around. the quitest place in the village with affordable prices and friendly hosts. although doesn't really function as a commercial enterprise, if it was one, the most suitable motto would be; "No staff, no problems"

Sibel and Serrat both operate and own the little pension Hobbit Evi in the tiny village of Cirali, Southern Turkey. The first thing that hits you walking into their garden is the spaciousness of it all. With three tall eucalyptus trees casting needful shade on privately set breakfast and dinner tables of massive wood. You know - the kind of kitchen table you spend hours at.

And why not spend hours? Serrat used to run a restaurant in Istanbul and with Sibel they dish out the best food I´ve had on vacation ever. Even better, breakfast is whenever. Whenever you´re done morning swimming in the ocean or after a stroll to the nearby shops the couple will serve hot tea and a variety of cold and warm dishes. We spent 7 days at Hobbit Evi and not once did we not taste a new local breakfast dish. After breakfast, when the sun is at it´s hottest I reccomend one of 4 hammocks.

Dinner serving is later, at approx nine. And is served with the same attention to taste, service and empasis on Turkish cuisine. The food at Hobbit Evi stands miles appart the common swill they serve at the not too near lying tourist traps deflowering Southern Turkey. Hobbit Evi has a set menu, changing according to the best produce. Dishes can be ordered seperatley but the best thing to do is to just eat whatever Sibel and Serrat decides suits the day. Food at Hobbit Evi is inexpensive at any rate so just take you seat and enjoy.

Being a sommelier I don´t expect much on vacations. At Hobbit Evi though, there is a great intrest in wine and I was served some of the best wines Turkey can offer. If you´re an over average wine-lover this english and german speaking couple will more than easily recommend what to be looking out for wine wise. Otherwise, local Raki naturally suits the turkish cuisine. Just don´t overdo it..

Hobbit Evi does not have a swimmingpool, nor do the rooms have TV-sets. And why would you want either with one of the quietest and cleanest beaches the mediterranian has to offer. Even if you run out of water, Hobbit Evi lies just 50 metres off the crystal clear water. A snorkling set at 10 euro´s is hereby recommended.

So what to do when not swimming or eating? Only 1,5 hours away you might rent a place on a boat and experiance a barely touched 100 year old city with a sunken city or reach the truly untouched turkish mediterrainian coast unaccessible by car. Take a gondol trip up to 2,300 metres above sea level. Rent a car or scooter just 5 minutes away from the pension to do so, and listen to Sibel or Serrat´s advise. They´ll help you make your day just-so and perfect.

Accomodations are scarce with only 4 doubles and a small bungalow with three beds so try to be early booking. Still, if you find yourself being pressed for time, give Hobbit Evi a call to see if they have anything available. It´s well worth the effort and you will have no language problems.

Ove.

This hotel is near the beach with a gorgeous garden.
With hammocks and sofa beds under trees.
Hotel owner himself as a gourme serves wonderfull mediteranien dishes.
You may enjoy lots of stars and maybe have a chance to watch -in the right time /season-caretta turtles running towards the sea after hatching eggs.
Wonderfull holiday in a preserved nature and very good service indeed.
