“Happy Days....”
Reviewed 7 October 2009

I've just returned from staying at the Kibala and couldn't possibly say enough good stuff about the place, the people or the food.

We arrived fairly late in the evening (11ish) and still Bulent, Ness and Aylen were there ready with a gorgeous meal for us....all 7 courses of it! The good times didn't stop there; every day presented a new culinary delight. And the best bit? There was no need to choose. Course after course was brought out without having to give it any thought whatsoever. I became one of those sad people who has nothing better to do with their day than check the dinner menu in the morning, then just lay on the beach all day thinking about whats to come!

The food isn't all the Kibala is about though, it's the people and the size of the place which really make it. There are only 6 bungalows so you're never looking at the place being over-crowded and they're far enough apart that we never felt like we were on top of each other. The gardens are so pretty it was just a treat to sit outside the bungalow in the deck chairs provided and chill out for a while...the whole morning could go by before we realised the time...ah bliss!

There are stacks of books to borrow or bikes to take yourself off on and the beach is only a short walk away. Bulent is more than happy to help with pretty much anything, Ness and Aylen are absolute sweethearts and even the chef came out to check the bikes over for us when he saw us looking them over. They really did make it a very special holiday for us.

Top tip...when you head down to the beach be sure to check out Oleander's...it's a great place for lunch and they make a mean caipirinha!

All in all it was a fabulous trip. We did nothing other than eat, drink and lay on the beach and I'd do it all again in an instant. ...

The area is charming as is the owner, Bulent. He is a table tennis whiz also. We had a mix up with our reservation, which could have been a trip buster as we fell in love with the place. Bulent took care of us and made our stay in the area an A+ experience. The food was delightful and wonderful.

Next door is a cute outdoor bar. We had fun memories of swinging on the tree tire swing.

Surely the nicest most relaxing holiday I've ever had. Wooden cabins set in a beautiful garden which is rich in fruit trees and palms. Tucked away where we were, it was as though there was nobody else there. Breakfast and Dinner ........ fantastic. Authentic Turkish cooking, and plenty of it. Breakfast consists of bread, cheese, olives, homemade preserves, fresh fruit and more. Dinner is seven courses, the food just seems to keep on coming. Great variety and dishes that, although we were unfamiliar with them, tasted wonderful. No qualms about returning, and have recommended to friends already.

One of the hightlights of our trip to Turkey celebrating a wedding anniversary. Cirali-- if not a real community but a street lined with pensions-- has an amazing beach, the ruins of Olympus to one side and the mythical eternal flames of the Chimerae to the other. In the midst of this, beautiful, well tended gardens are the location for the Kibala, where owner Bulent and his sweet, attentive, smiling staff members Nes and Aylin serve the most fantastic, meals. Would love to return!

Beautiful location with the food at Kibala being a definite highlight alongside avoiding mass tourism in this peaceful haven. The staff were amazing, attentive but not intrusive, the cabins were well cleaned with good showers, great a/c, teas and coffees and bottled water. There is plenty to do if in the mood; Chimera, the beach, boat trips, cycling, snorkelling or just lazing on the hammocks and sitting out side our private cabin. The Oleander beach restaurant is great and the owner, Cemal is invaluable for his valuable local knowledge, the loggerhead turtles, worth an early morning (4am) venture in season. We travelled with two teenagers, my daughter is used to off the beaten track holidays and absolutely loved it and misses Kibala, though this is not the place for teenagers who need constant entertainment and noise! The reviews seemed too good to be true but we can highly recommended and if we ever return to Turkey would not consider staying anywhere else. Hope to return next year in turtle season!

I think this must be our best holiday ever. We were able to unwind in the most breathtakingly stunning and peaceful surroundings, eat the most fantastic healthy food (much of this is organic), and enjoy the area's natural beauty whether it be the amazing beach nearby, the ruins at Olympus and Phaselis, the local boat trips or canyoning in a nearby gorge. The service was excellent but never intrusive and the accommodation was comfortable and very clean enabling complete privacy. We can't wait to return!
