“Amazing Location and Breakfast.”
Reviewed 20 May 2012

Rooms are lovely, hospitality is attentive, and breakfast is phenomenal. They even went and fetched us a little flashlight for our hike up the hill. Right next to Olympos, which is quite special.

What can I say? This is a dream location with lovely rich gardens that manage to hide the dozen or so single story rooms. In the garden is a large and beautiful carp pond with citrus trees and amazing palm trees creating valuable shade. This is such a contrast to the open expanse of sea and beach seen from the large open lawn, whic,h again is sheltered by magnificent palms.

We found it the ideal hideaway where nobody interferes with your space, and where the service is quietly and splendidly at hand when needed. Food was really very good, but the breakfasts were a real experience with so much to choose from.

...and no throbbing disco to curse at when trying to get off to a perfect sleep, just the occasional chorus from frogs, and the morning calls of cockerels and peacocks that are always present in the grounds.

I know we'll be going back...

I visited Olympos Lodge when I was at an interesting point in my life. I was looking for a quite place to concentrate on my future plans and construct my next project. I couldn't have found a better place.

The untouched nature and the fabulous setting of the hotel provided me exactly what I needed. The whole personnel was so excited about my plans that they showed incredible care to create the atmosphere I needed to work and meditate.

I had a deluxe room with a lovely fireplace. I just loved the simple sexy atmosphere of the room and found it to be very inspiring. The International Mediterranean cuisine (which they said is just new) was perfect to my taste.

My two days stay became a week long when I found out the story of the place. It is said to be the first boutique hotel of Turkey and this year it is their 25th anniversary. The chairs, the tables, the lamps all designed specially for the hotel by Detlef Schulz are all so nicely crafted. The Abidin Dino painting which the painter himself created during one of his visits to the hotel is just shining at the wall of the restaurant. If you love places with stories go there and sit with the manager at least for once. He will tell you lovely stories from all those years and you will be surprised to learn how many of the great artists are frequent visitors.

For those who are planning to visit Çıralı region: if you are looking for a top quality place with a unique atmosphere and a story you can be a part of, you should definitely check out Olympos Lodge. As for me, I am definitely going back on summer time again.

We stayed in the hotel with our 2 kids and friends. Kids enjoyed the place so much!!! Running around in the garden, swimming... It's a great place but quite expensive. The food in the restaurant was great as well as the breakfast, but expensive...
If you can afford it... Go for it!

A very nice park, a very nice place with nice rooms. Originally the host has a very good taste and a good idea of a hotel. But it seems that he lives from the ideas of the past and has not mentioned his restaurant being absolutely empty in the evening and his guests not as satisfied as they should be for this high price! One paies a high price in comparison with other very nice hotels in Ciral like the Azur or the Oleander. No good coffee in the morning, no good cleaning and housekeeping, no english- oder german speaking waiters, bad but very expensive restaurant. Our judgement overall: Cirali is very nice and you can excellently live there for 55 Euros per night and room. Here in Olympos Lodge you pay 200-225 Euros per room and have no coffee, no restaurant and not good kept rooms. Think about it....!

We spent our summer vacation in Turkey this year, 11 days we stayed at Olympos Lodge.
A lovely place far away from any big hotel, this little paradise, full of animals running around is located directly at the beach. The cabins are nicely situated in a green garden with palm trees, two of them with garden/ocean view. The rooms were absolutely okay, no phone, no TV, no safe, no information package. Most of the days we had warm water and the ants just stayed in the small bathroom. Typically we had to ask for fresh towels. The floor was clean and the air-condition was dripping water only twice. Overall we did not really mind these limitations as we spent most of our time outside.
There was a rich buffet for breakfast, dinner was good and costly (as the mini bar in the rooms). Staff was polite and friendly.
THE BIG NEGATIVE: On the last day we asked in the afternoon to prepare our invoice, we asked again; at 22:00h the manager presented us the amount to pay. We had paid a deposit months before, we had paid with some amount with cash and the remaining sum was to be settled by credit card. In good believe that we would finally get a correct invoice early next morning as promised, we paid, not knowing the details. Who did not show up with the proper calculation of the costs the next morning was the manager - we had to rush for the airport.
Make a long story short, having asked several times by phone and email, we still did not get a proper listing of what we paid for. This is very disappointing, as we spent happy days there, still the extremely unprofessional attitude of the manager is completely unacceptable to us. For about Euro 5000 we expect to be treated fair and with honesty. (We are wondering what is being declared to the local tax authorities? Only the partial amount we paid by credit card?)
To summarize: Olympos Lodge is a nice and expensive place, we liked beautiful garden and all the wildlife around and we did not mind the limitations of room and service, but the behaviour of the current business manager is very incorrect and does not meet our style nor our expectation. The owner may think about it....we are dissatisfied.
