Smallest but most beautiful hotel in the world. We decided to all of a sudden, and for just one night holiday, could not have been more perfect. We have enjoyed so much that we will visit again and again.

We stayed only 1 night...what a pity! The host Ece was really amazing! The guest house has all the comfort anyone could need. We had an excellent breakfast near the beautiful swimming pool. All was perfect!!! We highly racommend Assosalarga for the beautiful stone buinding, for Ece's kindness (she welcomed us speaking Italian...a gold dust in turkey!) and for the unforgettable breakfast! It was a lovely stay, we felt like home!

A great place to stay. The host and staff were exceptional, friendly and helpful. They made us feel at home. The place itself has real charm and character.Starting the day with a breathtaking morning sunrise, breakfast at the poolside was a good start. Ending a hot day by the poolside, followed by evening star-gazing made a perfect day. The tasteful rooms make you feel like you are really in Turkey. We only wished we were staying a few more days.

Room Tip: Upstairs has a nice view.

We booked into Assos Alarga (the Smallest Hotel) for a week, and were thoroughly refreshed and relaxed by the end. With just 3 rooms, this stone-built small hotel near the ruins of Assos is very professionally run by Ece, who provides a relaxing and homely place to stay with all the comforts anyone could need. The swimming pool was a great asset in the 35 degree plus heat – and the shaded seating area at its side was our favourite place to spend an afternoon or two watching the swallows swoop down to drink, as we enjoyed an ice-cold beer in a chilled glass.

Breakfasts are a real feast – and set you up for the day ahead (whether spent sightseeing or lazing). Served in the breakfast room or down at our favourite spot by the pool, breakfast includes local fruits and cheeses, tomatoes and other veg, fabulous locally-made tomato and chilli spread (great on toast), eggs (however you like them), a daily special treat (some days pancakes, other days Turkish pastries stuffed with meat and fruits, or some home-made cake). Ece’s home-made jams are especially delicious. Endless tea and coffee if you want it …..

If you do not wish to go out for dinner Ece will cook up a treat using locally sourced ingredients, as long as you let her know in advance. Otherwise she will recommend places to eat nearby - her favourite places rather than tourist haunts.

Ece speaks excellent English and will happily chat about things to do if you get fed up of lazing by the pool. The Friday bazaar at Kucukkuyu is well worth a visit.

We stayed in Orsa, the biggest of the three rooms, and found it very comfortable.

Overall, Assos Alarga is a great place to stay if you are passing through on your way to somewhere else or have time to fully appreciate Ece’s hospitality. Highly recommended.

We stayed 3 nights in July 2012 and our host Ece was absolutely amazing! Located within the original city walls and on its doorstep the amazing ruins which is definitely worth a visit with clear views all the way to Lesvos (Greek island). Visit Assos for a swim and dinner-just stunning. Before we even commenced our journey, I knew it would be good, as Ece was very helpful with directions(we were driving around Turkey) and recommendations. It only has 3 rooms and they were the most comfortable. It was simply wonderful waking up in the morning to a wonderful breakfast, at the pool, on the terrace or inside dining. Having a drink on the terrace in the evening with a beautiful sea breeze was heavenly. We fell inlove with Behramkale/Assos and we certainly fell inlove with our hostess and Assos Alarga. Bravo!

Room Tip: All rooms have a view.

Excellent experience overall, I highly recommend Assosalarga! Be sure to ask for directions to the little bar/beach near the Okon Hotel. Back in Assos, eat out on the hotel terrace for a delicious meal and sweeping views, then climb the short distance up to the acropolis at dusk when no one else is around.
