“Queit with a nice river location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 June 2013

We ended up in here because our tour could not all fit into another hotel. In the event the hotel was good, there was a great pool area with hammocks, and beds around the pool, there was a river facing bar and levee. I could here a bit of noise from a nightclub about 500m away, but it would be much louder in Dalayan- so I would not have wanted to be any closer. Did not have breakfast, but the room was good, we had air-conditioning which worked well and a hot shower. On the downside the room was not cleaned and we did not have clean towels or any toilet roll- I had to steal it from another room as there was no one around. Still a great place to go.

Room Tip: Room facing Hotel Kilim would be quieter and cooler.

We spent a week at Holiday Hotel Dalyan. I chose this hotel because it was the only one I could find that was right by the river, had a pool and walking distance to the center. It's not a luxury hotel but there was nothing that stopped us from having a great holiday especially as the staff were extraordinary. They took care of my five year old nephew as if he's their own child. He enjoyed seeing the turtles and fish in the river and the baby birds in the nest. We even saw a hedgehog in the municipality park nearby. The hotel was peaceful (at least when my nephew wasn't around). Engin, the owner, lent us his car, even took us to a restaurant once and Ulku gave us a lift to the airport. Burak was very helpful at breakfast. We also became very friendly with the managers Mark and Hulya, they are very nice, cultured people with good sense of humor. Hulya cooked great meze's when we had dinner at the hotel. Breakfast/dinner area has views of the ancient tombs on the cliffs accross from the river. Engin arranged boat tours for us, we were happy with all of them. The only problem for us was lack of enough shade at midday, but this wasn't a big problem because we were usually away at tours or beach at that time of the day. Also the rooms have airconditioning. They clean the rooms every other day. Bring your own shampoo and soap, or buy at the nearby market. It's great value. I absolutely recommend this hotel.

We spent two nights at this establishment. We were the only guests there and the regular management was off on holiday so this review is probably not indicative of this establishment when everything is up and running in high season

Pros:
Location is awesome, right on the Dalyan river overlooking the rock tombs. Short walk to multiple restaurants on the river and the town square with oodles of restaurants, bars, and shops
The pool area very nice with kiddie pool and plenty of loungers on grassy area.Nice platform with pillows for lounging
The temporary manager was very friendly and helpful, making phone calls to book tours etc
Air con worked great
Price of the room was budget friendly

Cons:
The hot water pressure was very low, the shower head holder was broken so taking a shower was a prolonged experience. We did mention that to the management
Now we could have changed our room but we discovered the shower problem after we had unpacked so it didn’t seem worth the bother since I would imagine the lack of hot water flow was a problem in all the rooms
No soap for bathing. No glasses in the room for drinking. Both requests were honored once mentioned
Had dinner at the hotel the first night because of what prior reviewers had written. It wasn’t good value IMO. It was a set meal for 40 lira and included steak or fish, a selection of mezzes and fruit
The fish was just grilled, not even a slice of lemon. No rice or potatoes. The “steak” was just pieces of cooked meat without seasoning
Most if not all of the restaurants nearby on the river had specials because it was low season. A set menu was 35-40 lira and that included a glass of wine or beer

Dalyan is lovely place and this hotel is a good option for the price

Very good small guest house in a pleasant and tranquil location only a few minutes' walk from the town centre. Staff very helpful & welcoming. Room simply furnished (but with good aircon!!!!) and well maintained (cleaned, with fresh towels and bed linen daily). Among the highlights was the best ever Turkish breakfast, served at whatever time we rolled out of bed.

We visited the Holiday Hotel with another married couple in July and stayed for 4 nights. We all wish it could have been longer!
The manager, Purlen, and her brother Yalin, along with Ulku made us all feel very welcome and comfortable. The hotel has a great pool, air conditioned rooms, cleanliness and generally a very friendly family atmosphere.
We enjoyed ourselves in fantastic Dalyan, we wanted to stay much longer, but unfortunately on this occasion we couldn't. Hopefully in the future we will be able to stay much longer.......................................!!!

We were two guys staying for 12 nights at Holiday hotel, by accident. We asked for a room at Kilim hotel but they were fully booked for a couple of days and could not take us in immediately. They advised us to go across the street (country road) and check out Holiday hotel. I'm glad they did. We ended up staying there the whole time and cancelled our booking at Kilim.

The previous reviews sum up nicely our impression as well, but here goes:
The hotel looks a bit uninviting at first, you're met by a parking spot and an office, but walking past it a pretty garden with a pool, bar and a stunning waterside view of the Rock tombs come into view. We were met by the hotel's gracious manager Purlen, who in surprisingly good English told us about the place and showed us the available rooms to choose from.

She turned out to be a real trooper - there was nothing she wouldn't do to make our holiday as comfortable as possible, and she was also very good to talk to in general. Holiday hotel is family run, and she and her brother kept things running smoothly.
Smooth, relaxed and service-minded is how I would describe Holiday hotel. The sensational village breakfast was served anytime you liked, and if late at night you felt like having something to drink by the river mesmerised by the illuminated rock tombs opposite the bar was always open, you just helped yourself and told Purlen the next day.
There was also a cool house dog, a hen with chicks, and a million crickets drowning out the sound of the nearby town of Dalyan, making you feel like you were in a secluded spot in the country.
And when you felt like taking the public boat to the beach (which was practically every day) Purlen just called the company and the next boat pulled up alongside the hotel!

No need to shop around next time in Dalyan - this is the place!

We had a truly wonderful time at this is simple, rustic, family run laid back hotel. The garden backs onto the Dalyan river where you can see Nile turtles swimming right up to the side while eating breakfast. The view of the rivers and rock tombs opposite are stunning. Nothing beats relaxing in the hammock or gazing at the wonderful view on the large cushions. The owners are very friendly and helpful. You can get river taxis from their jetty or jump in the water to cool off.
The only downside I would say is the room we had which had a very small wardrobe for 3 people and the shower wasn't great. Our room was 207 and I think other rooms are bigger and have more storage space. Also take mosquito relelant.
For children there is an independent club called Dalyan Kids for 8-14 yr olds - check their website - which aims to help turkish and foreign kids meet each other and do nature and environmental trips eg turtle, trecking etc. Although we did not make us of this it really looked good and may do so another time.
There are pet chickens and baby chicks in the garden.
We are definately going back next year and bringing friends.
