“Fantastic beach”
Reviewed 8 July 2014

Quiet and clean. Lovely long beach to walk from one side to other side of bay and take water taxi back to Dalyan. Visit to turtle hospital is a must!

“Beautiful beach...”
Reviewed 8 July 2014

We visited this beach as part of a day trip, we began with a mud bath then a nice river cruise along to Iztuzu Beach this beach is beautiful, we saw the turtles swimming close to the beach on the fresh water side, and you have the opportunity to swim in both the freshwater river or the Med sea,

The beach is well maintained and a great place to spend an afternoon, there is facilities on the beach, where you can get food and drinks, as well as huts to change in but this is limited due to the remote location, also the shower looked very inviting to get all the sand and sea water off when leaving the beach, however this is just a salt water shower, only real draw back but Iztuzu Beach is definitely a must when visiting turkey.

“Dalyan beach 2014”
Reviewed 7 July 2014

I visit Dalyan beach every year at least once or twice. The mother nature was so generous in this area and previous inhabitants also had more respect to the nature than todays people.Start from Dalyan town, which you have to start from there if you want to go to mud baths(which is one end) or the other end, istuzu beach (also known as Dalyan beach). When you go there by your own vehicle you have to park your car so far away from the cooperative boats. These are run by local municipality and 10 TL ( £ 3 )both ways. There are so many private tour boats on the way to cooperative boats and they all act like if hiring a private boat is the only way to go somehere. There is no clear signs for those public boats and that is not good. The river is quite clean but one can still see some pet bottles and nylon bags along with very rare bird which is a contradiction.Nice journey from dalyan to Istuzu beach. There is no diciplin in the piers and the captains do whatever they wished to do during journey. The wooden buildings are not in very good condition on the beach. There is no lifeguards, there is a high metal balcony sort of a place but nobody on.They make you go back to Dalyan before sun set,so that Carettas can come and lay their eggs safely.Fair enough. The water running from shower is salty.Cant understand why we can not produce decent water as the river is only there with its almost drinking quality...The ice cream i bought was soft.most probably because of a power cut.again no use of few solar panels for those bad times...when you go bach to the boat for return, there is no place to spray your feet from sticky sand.
Dalyan is very nice place with its surroundings. The river and the water passages are fantastic to watch. So many birds and carettas all around.King thumb are very majestic. The sea, beach and turtels are so beautiful. There is no high buildings.I recomend this place to everybody. The nice things you will see around is much more the bad ones.I am a local person that is why i observe things more carefully.

Hi
Thanks for your constructive criticism
I would like to mention couple of thigs
Even though we do not keep our lifeguard on tower but we do have trained and licenced life guard on duty during all summer.
Last five years we have not lost a single soul. Our life guards saved lots of people.
What you call river is not a river actually. It is Lake of Koycegiz connected to the sea and it is not drinkable it is salty too. To bring fresh water to the beach is not allowed by ministry of enviroment. We added salt water showers for our guests just to clean sand from their bodies.
We do appreciate your advices.
Thanks again and looking forward to see you at İztuzu again someday

“Heavenly beach”
Reviewed 6 July 2014

Iztuzu is one big beach with two sides that are both wonderful in different ways.

You have the side that you can't get to by car, only by boat. So if going from Dalyan, you get a fantastic river boat trip down the delta. You get a clean soft sand on a well maintained beach, which is clearly respected by those who use and run it. The views are stunning, a big wide open space.

You then have the other side, accessible by car, which is a bit more closed in. This side is slightly more rugged, the sand slightly darker with more stones, with clearer water. Again very clean beach. It has a different feel but it is no less lovely. There is also a turtle sanctuary there and it's good to see the work being done to protect them.

Food facilities on the beaches are great - the pancakes are so good! The beach is protected for the turtle egg laying and the respect given to the area is so admirable. No buildings, no resorts!

I didn't give a fifth star but I'd give four and a half if there was an option. You do have to pay for entry to the beach at both ends, and there are sunbeds and umbrellas at a cost (not sure what it is at the mo), but I guess it's worth it if it goes towards the beach's upkeep. I'd also add that, lovely as it is, after a tiring day on the beach the last thing you want is that long boat ride back along the delta to Dalyan!
