“Booked again the day we left!”
Reviewed 28 July 2013

A fabulous place for rest, relaxation...and a great time all round. From the minute we arrived we knew we had found somewhere VERY special. Our whole group of 6 friends had a 'moment' at some point in the week with a little cry over the wonder of this little piece of paradise...both in the hotel and on the many trips we took with Volkan and Sebnem. By the time we left everyone was in tears, not wanting to leave. Thank you to everyone who made this the perfect holiday! See you next April and July Asena :-) xx

Hi Sian;

You were my lead contact so I should thank you especially for coming here with all your great friends. We had the best of best times together. I think we have covered a lot in 1 week and been to many excursions together, depleted the cocktails and spirits in the bar :) and enjoyed our pool all together with the cocktails in our hands. Unforgettable memories thanks to you. You are already booked for next April and July and we will double the fun than :) It was a bit to short but thank you for making the most out of it and spending almost all your time with us. We love you guys and looking forward to seeing you all again.

With all our love,
Sebnem & Volkan

As has so often been said about this hotel, we cannot praise the staff, value for money and organisation enough. We found our room very clean and perfect for our holiday, particularly with air conditioning but the real praise should be directed towards Sebnem & Volkan, Omar and the rest of their lovely staff (I can't remember all of their names!). Their service was always very friendly and they were so helpful with everything. The boat trip was the best excursion I've ever been on and as with everything else, it was excellent value for money. We so enjoyed relaxing around the bar and listening to the music (particularly the Manchester bands)! Our last night at the hotel was a fantastic Turkish evening with delicious wild boar and a Turkish folk band along with dancing. The food at the hotel was wonderful and I think it was as good as anywhere else we ate.

I cannot recommend this hotel enough and will be telling friends and family about it!

Thank you Volkan, Sebnem, the lady that cooks breakfast and many other meals, our room maid and Omar (hope he enjoys his trip to Manchester!) for making our holiday so brilliant!

We will be back!

David and Katharine

We stayed at the hotel for a week and my only disappointment was we couldn't' stay any longer!! Volkan and Sebnem are so friendly and make you feel welcome. Omar is a little sweetie it is a lovely motel, basic rooms but why would you go to such a beautiful location to stay in your room..

We have been to Dalyan many times stayed at the Asur hotel and villas which were stunning places but this place is a home from home and we feel we have made new friends.

Thank you for making our trip so memorable.

If you decide to go you must go on the trip to the mountains where there is a hidden gem of a place where you can swim in ice cold water which is so refreshing in the relentless heat the food there is delicious fresh river trout caught and cooked immediately all for the princely sum of £4.00 delish!! It's called 'cinar waterfall resort'

Volkan will take you and will gladly push you on the river swing to jump in!!

If you fancy a river trip don't go on the large boats book with a local boat captain as we did for a private trip if you don't have anywhere in mind then just ask them to take you where you want to swim have a mud bath etc and off you go, we went for a whole day and it cost us £20.00 and he gave us fresh plums from his garden.

The hotel has a folk night with wild boar which my husband says is lovely the music is just wonderful based on the history of the different parts of turkey it was lovely

The food at the hotel is delicious and it's great to sit in the garden eating and reading instead of being in the scorching sun on a subbed

A perfect holiday thank you to all of the staff there you are all superb, we will definitely be back next year xxxx

Dear Chris & Gill;

Thank you so much for your lovely words and great review. Even before we have met you, starting with our e-mails we have exchanged, we knew we would meet a lovely couple, great people. And when you showed up with a bottle of great welsh whiskey :) we knew we would be great friends for sure :) Oh guys really thank you so much for everything, you are great people to get to know to and we loved being around you and spending time with you. It was very upsetting to say good bye to you especially with the very bad news arrived on your last day. We are looking forward to seeing you again. Thank you so much for everything.

With all our best wishes,
Volkan & Sebnem

The hotel and the proprietors were fantastic. The day trips we were taken on by Volkan were a real good laugh and a great opportunity to get to know the other guests.
The one tiny area that for us that could so easily be implemented is to have the choice of real coffee supplied at breakfast, even if I had to pay extra. Breakfast is served in a beautiful setting by the pool, but we always had to go into town to buy a morning coffee. The coffee available at breakfast was completely tasteless. Each guest I spoke to who was a coffee lover agreed.
Looking forward to returning next year.

Hello Andrew, Susan & Maybelline;

Thank you for your review and comments. Really helps us to explain ourselves better.

Yes I agree about the trips, they are great opportunity to enjoy Dalyan's surrounding and to get to know other guests better. They work even better when our guests make a reservation these usually fully booked with limited seats organizations, and than cancel them at the last moment. But as you very well know, we just don't say anything and make sure you are feeling ok and there is no other problem for you. We don't go complaining.

Now the coffee business.We serve Nescafe Classic. Not the best coffee I know but I have been testing it my self (I am the biggest coffee lover I know in my life) and with other guests since you have written this comment, so far no reason to change it. Well currently we have this another guest who is a coffee lover and he says ok its not Kopi Luwak but its good. Of course maybe you are used to Kopi Luwak but than a cup of coffee would cost more than your room rate. Anyways, I really don't know what you mean about real coffee. So I would really appreciate if you could send me a PM and tell me what is it so I will try it myself.

Andrew, my friend, I have to tell you, I am a bit upset about this coffee business because everyone here knows if you didn't like the coffee, I would go get the coffee you like and cook it for you every morning with my own hands. Why didn't you just say anything but went talking with other guests? Real coffee may be easy to find but real friends first give each other a chance before talking behind their back. I am sorry if all these upsets you but this is how I feel and really been thinking about this all past week.

Another thing I could not understand, why would you say 2 weeks in Dalyan Asena where you stayed only 6 nights? Anyways i could not solve it when you guys were complaining because you couldn't find electric plugs and light switches in your room, so I guess I wont be able to solve this either.

Have a nice real cup of coffee for me Andrew. See you later.

Best Wishes,
Volkan

Like many others, we can only reiterate the wonderful comments already made about the Asena. Although it was our first visit to Dalyan, we were greeted like old friends by Volkan when we arrived, and were soon made to feel like friends staying at their home, not just as hotel guests.

The Asena is perfectly located, within a short distance from the river and centre of town. We were fortunate enough to be staying there for the legendary Wild Boar Evening with traditional Turkish music and dancing - we particularly enjoyed playing the spoon instruments :) We also went out on a fabulous boat trip, with Volkan, Sebnem and several other guests. This also coincided with my birthday, so I couldn't have wished to have spent it any other way, and in such good company.

Rooms are simply furnished with ample storage space and are cleaned daily by Murvet who works tremendously hard and is always smiling. Belgin (always smiling too) will serve you cooked items every morning, in addition to ensuring the buffet breakfast is kept replenished. Omer makes the best cocktails and kept us entertained at the bar, along with his menu interpretations - ask him about the 'chicken beef' :) We ate at the Asena 4 evenings out of 7 and the food was excellent.

The warmth and hospitality shown by Volkan, Sebnem and staff make the Asena the success it is and it's hardly surprising that guests are planning their next visit even before they leave. That reminds me.....we'll be in touch soon to book for next year, before it's too late!!

Hello Michelle & Jonathan;

Well when people like yourselves come with arms open, there is not much left for us but see you as our close friends or relatives. As sad we were for your leave, now we are even more happy with the news that you are coming next year :) We will just continue great fund and long chats around our bar where we left and as I will discover more hidden places around Dalyan this winter, we will go explore them together. We missed your company and wish you were here now. Thank you all so much for the lovely review. This really helps us to have more guests like yourselves. Mostly appreciated.

We will stay in touch and you never know we might make our way to Swansea this November and make s surprise to you :)

Take good care guys, will talk soon again.

With all our love,
Volkan & Sebnem

Hey Pauline, hello Lyn...

Sorry it took me a bit to thank you for your review, but I had to collect my thoughts :)

Of course you would go to heaven, Angels only live in heaven. Both you and Lyn, what can I say, the people who stayed here while you ere here all making reservations and asking for the dates that you would be here. So I can say that we are already fully booked for next year beginning of July :) With your fans :)

We couldn't ask for better ladies. You are clearly the best and we love you guys so much and will definitely try to see you when we are in England this November.

Missing you dearly and looking forward to next July already.

Thank you so much for the lovely review by the way :)

I was almost tempted not to write a review so this place can be kept a secret as it's such a find!
Volkan & Sebnam make you feel so welcome and nothing is too much trouble. Sebnams food is fantastic and if you get the opportunity to join the Wild Boar Roast, do go...it's a fun evening with amazing food and local musicians who are incredible!
All of this has been said in previous reviews so this isn't a revelation and I totally agree with all the rave reviews!
Can't wait to go back!
