“Chillin in Dalyan”
Reviewed 17 May 2014

A big thank you to Volkan, Sebnem, Omer and Team for a great holiday spent at Asena Motel.
From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome and at home.
Volkan has a wealth of local knowledge which he was only to happy to share to ensure our holiday was enjoyable.
We stayed in the "Garden Room" which had its own access from the side of the hotel. The room was basic but had everything we needed including a comfy bed, good storage, en suite bathroom with good shower, towels for both the beach and room.
The hotel is located only a short stroll away from the main centre of Dalyan but far enough away that you can appreciate the peace and tranquility of the area.
Dalyan is a beautiful town and to have Asena Motel to return to every day was great.
The "Tree Bar", as we fondly named it, was a hub of activity with both Turkish locals, X Pats and hotel guests all enjoying the hospitality provided by Volcan, Sebnem and Omer. We spent many a happy hour ensuring the bar needed to be frequently replenished!!
The food........ We were lucky enough to dine at Asena several times and the food was fantastic and without fault. Sebnem I need recipes!! If you get the chance please ensure you try the food here as you will not be dissappointed by either the quality or price.
In summary, a huge thank you once again to Volkan, Sebnem, Omer and Team for making our holiday so enjoyable.
If you have not already done so, GO AHEAD and book!!

I do not usually review hotels and restaurants that I have been to, however the service, hospitality and kindness that my wife and I received from Volkan, Sebnem and their staff at the Asena Motel was nothing short of exemplary.
From the moment that we arrived, we were made to feel welcome, relaxed and at home. They provide a very chilled out and relaxed environment for their guests and all staff are extremely friendly, approachable and happy to assist in any way they can. It came as no surprise to us that the majority of other guests we met have stayed at the hotel many times before.
We arrived, at what was a pretty quiet time of the year (End of April), just before the holiday season had really started. With not a great deal of activity in town, Volkan was kind enough to take my wife and I out and personally show us some of the lesser known sites of Dalyan; areas that the large tours do not get to visit, including a secluded bay and a panoramic lookout with beautiful vistas over Dalyan. He also arranged canoeing on the river and a Turkish bath and massage for us.
Almost every night the hotel bar acted as the social hub, with Volkan leading proceedings with assistance from Sebnem, and the barman Omer - himself a very nice, friendly and funny guy. We had a lovely time chatting and drinking with all until the small hours.
When numbers permitted, Sebnem was able to offer a traditional Turkish evening meal that was, without fail, delicious and extremely good value!
The rooms, which are kept extremely clean, are simply furnished and decorated but have all you really need in terms of; comfortable bedding, a balcony, en-suite bathroom and ample storage. The hotel is conveniently located for Dalyan town.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our holiday, despite less than great weather and plenty of rain! That was, in no small part, due to the kindness and warmth of our hosts. There is much to commend the Asena Motel, but it is the people who run it who really shine and set it apart. We recommend them to anyone wishing to stay in a chilled out place in Dalyan. We will be going back in the future.

As a first timer to Dalyan we were unsure on both the resort and hotel but within only a couple of days we were in love with both!

We had a warm welcome to the Asena from Volkan who showed us to our room which was basic but then you aren’t paying for a 5 star!

Everything in our room although basic was absolutely fine, the beds were very comfortable and felt really big, the shower was powerful enough and good hot water. The rooms were cleaned every day and were left spotless, it was lovely to come back to virtually a brand new room every day!

The hotel itself is set only a few minutes stroll from the centre of Dalyan and has some lovely gardens which are protected (haha) by Casper the friendly dog. All areas are kept spotlessly clean and the pool was great for a refreshing dip and never too busy.

The breakfasts were AMAZING! I loved getting up every day to see what specialities were cooked, each day there was a traditional Turkish egg and side dish brought to your table along with a fresh buffet available with meats, salad, yoghurts, breads etc. Thank you Bel!

Volkan the owner (along with his great support team) is the most hospitable host and we feel it was this which gave our stay the complete 5 stars. Volkan was always on hand for any questions big or small. He is very knowledgeable on the local area and could always provide ideas on trips out for you. We went out on two trips with Volkan and other guests (who became friends) and these trips were wonderful! You absolutely have to do these trips which are also great value for money. We went on a boat trip which took us out to sea for the day with a delicious BBQ onboard and another which took us to what felt like a private bay and then a sunset at the aptly named Sunset Restaurant which felt like a dream!

Lastly I wanted to mention the food at the Asena, it was beautiful! We ate here for some lunches and also for a BBQ evening which was a great experience with LOTS of lovingly prepared mezes and a great feast of BBQ meats. You must eat here, Sebnem is a fantastic cook along with Bel for lunches. Oh and can’t forget Omer, keep up the football knowledge!

There is so much I can write, but all you need to know is that we WILL be returning!

We were in this great family hotel last year in summer. We just came from Istanbul and were looking to relax we found a perfect place and probably the best value for money that we had in all of our trips so far. The rooms are simple but perfectly clean, not the highlight but grant for a enjoyable stay. The greatest surprise was for us the atmosphere and most of all the food. This hotel has a daily changing set menu of freshly prepared diverse delicacies. In contrast to most other restaurants in this area you can tell they are prepared by a trained chef.
Last but not least the owner organised tours and visits ,even a day in a boat, all for very good prices and mostly because he is a local that really means no tourists traps. It is really worth trying.

Having experienced the Asena and Dalyan for the first time last July with a group of female friends, I knew I had to share this wonderful place with my husband. As expected, he loved it too! He wants to go back again for a truly relaxing and memorable holiday. I've had to tell him "No chance until next year - it's us girls again first in July!!!". Truly a home from home - but with far better weather and food! Thanks evryone for yet again making us so welcome. See you in the summer :-) xx

Once again (third visit to Asena) I have to five my thanks to Volkan, Sebnam and all staff at the hotel for an absolutely blissful and fabulous holiday. Nothing is too much trouble and you can't fail to start relaxing as soon as you arrive. Already counting the days to my next visit in July :-)
