Villa Dolunay Apart Hotel

We really enjoyed our stay, Gokan and Hakan and their wives were very helpful. Apartments were comfortable although a few more items in the kitchen would be useful. Very close by there is a good little shop for food and drinks and the walk into town takes max 10 minutes.

We found a fantastic little restaurant on the way into town called Altintay, the food is superb. Run by a family, Mum cooks and daughter and son in law wait in the tables. Very friendly, cannot recommend too highly.

All in all we will definitely be back, Dalyan is a nice town not yet spoiled by modern tourism, good boat trips to be had and the beach is glorious. well worth a trip by boat to the beach at least once.

My wife and I have just returned from a week at the Dolunay and having been once before a few years ago and had a good time then we felt a bit disappointed by our experience this time. On the positive side the complex has grown and had a reception/chalet added that provides a place to shower and rest when waiting for those tedious return flight pickups and this was a very welcome extra. Food at the poolbar is good, well prepared and tasty with generous portions and compares well with the town cafes on price. The gardens are lush with flowers ,vines and the ubiquitous palm trees and the overall feel is good. However, on the negative side, the sunbed mattresses are grubby and stained and worst of all the pool was unusable for our entire week due to some green slime infection that seemed to be beyond the wit of Gokan or his team to eradicate. This pool was the only one we found that had been affected even though we were told that it was somehow related to the storm from the week before. This was a cause of a lot of concern and annoyance for the guests whilst we were there and it was quite unforgiveable that Gokan did not even offer one word of apology or explanation. Several people contacted the Thomson rep. but nothing was resolved whilst we were there. I agree also that the aircon charge is extortionate - temperatures can be in the upper 30's and unbearable at night. I could also add the lack of a grill/toaster, bottle opener, decent sized drinking glasses, ice cube tray etc. This is supposed to be self-catering after all. I also was taken aback by the TIPS envelope although I have to be fair and say that the maids were good. I don't think we'll go back and I'm sorry to say that because this is a family business and they do work hard. I just hope that they read reviews such as these and act on what they hear.

Room Tip: Rooms are allocated by the manager and seem to vary quite a bit in terms of balcony size. It seemed...

Just returned from our 4th stay at the Dolunay.
Some minor niggles but overall an excellent value for money apartment although it would be very cramped for more than two people. Hopefully we will be booking again for next year.

Just back from a couple of weeks at the Dolunay. I can confirm it is basic accommodation, fairly clean & in a good location, about a ten minute walk from the main village. I cannot really say it was a totally wonderful place to stay, but equally cannot say it was terrible. I think some of the other reviewers are holidaymakers who return year after year & as a consequence accept the little inconvenient quirks of the apartments without question. For myself & my husband we did not really like the tiny bedroom with child size twin beds..... They are only 2ft 6in wide & not very long & also very low. We were also a little shocked at having to pay £8 per day for the air conditioning, a total of £112 for the fortnight !!!! If we had realised this before booking we would have paid more for a holiday that included air con. The air con did not work very well & kept cutting out before it had lowered the room temp. The swing function on ours did not work & when we pointed this out to the owner, he shrugged & said it was over ten years old......
The grounds were ok & initially the pool was ok, if a little green & slimy around the edges, however during the end of the 1st week the pool got distinctly murky & by the 2nd week was actually green (please see photos). The maids came in everyday, but it took me' four days to realise that unless you placed the towels on the floor they did not change them. Also I was not impressed with getting an envelope with TIP BOX left by my bedside a few days before we left...... Like another reviewer I left it on the coffee table.
We personally would not stay there again as there are other many other apartments in Dalyan that are more comfortable for around the same price if you include the cost of the aircon.
All in all, it's not a bad place but needs some attention to detail to improve & seriously needs to review the aircon & pool problem.

We came here in early august and has missed our initial flight so after transferring our flight, we didnt get there till 3am the next day and Gokhan, the owner (bless him) stayed up and waited for us which we felt so bad but was nice to be greeted with a smile. The rooms are clean and comfy and the pool area is so nicely maintained and is very pretty.. the whole family and housekeepers are very friendly and smiley. Will definitely go back again. having holiday blues :)

Great location, very clean rooms (cleaned every day with fresh towels) good food, lots of sunbeds etc etc etc can't fault it. No hassle from the owners to eat/buy drinks etc from them so if you wanted to eat out or in your room at lunch etc there was no guilt trip! but if you did need anything they were all very helpfull and very pleasant.

This was our first time in Turkey, so pleased we book Dolunay Apartments , it has a lovely pool which was like a bath , the weather was very very hot, we paid for the air-conditioning which was a must as it does get really hot at night ... (£8.00) per night The apartments are a 10 -15 minute walk to the main centre, which has loads of restaurants, bars and lots of shops.
Nice family run pool bar , which serves breakfast and snacks . The best thing about these apartments is the location, its very quiet and you do not have to get up at the crack of dawn to reserve your sunbeds. Don't forget to bring your mosquito spray , we did'nt get any bites, but alot of people did, all in all a fantastic holiday ,would definitely go back.
