My partner and I stayed here after finding the hotel on TripAdvisor. It is a budget hotel, so the rooms are not luxurious, but everything you need is there and the rooms, pool area etc are spotless at all times. The owners - Umit and Serap - and their staff are extremely friendly and helpful and Umit will organise airport transfers at a far lower cost than local taxis. The hotel is a slow 10 minute walk from the restaurants etc (no hills!), or you can walk down alongside the river which takes a bit longer but is very pretty. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: 3rd floor has a loft-type sloping roof

Having never been to Turkey before we were stepping into the unknown. Thankfully, the hotel and location we chose were absolutely fantastic.

The previous reviews say it all about this splendid little family run hotel. We were made welcome, not only by all the staff, but by every single guest staying there (some of whom were on their umpteenth visit, by the way, which speaks volumes for the place). It was almost like a family gathering rather than a holiday. Where else would you find EVERY single person staying at the hotel going on an organised trip??

Nowhere can be perfect of course, and If there is any criticism to make (and it's only a very small criticism) the breakfast was not really to my liking...but I can be a bit of a fussy eater at times, and everybody else (including my wife) seemed more than happy with it.

Dalyan itself is a lovely place, with a fantastic beach only a 20 minute bus ride away for approx. £1.50 (or 30 minute boat ride for £2.50, depending on your mood). There are many restaurants to choose from, all good value, and all good quality.

I won't bore you with the gory details of our 10 days there but, in our opinion, Must Do's are the boat/bus trips to the beach, the Mud Baths, the walk up to Kaunos (including the rowing boat trip across the river, captained by a very elderly lady!!), Kaunos Tours boat tour to Ekincek Bay (£16 each for an 8 hour trip, including a very tasty barbecue lunch) and the Monday Market (my particular highlight..During our few hours there, I received plenty of bargains, lots of abuse and two death threats...all in good humour of course!! My wife had to drag me away in the end, as I was haggling for things I didn't even want!!)

To sum it up, we had a fabulous holiday, in a wonderful place, surrounded by very friendly people...what more can you ask for??

Would we return, like so many before us?? I think it's an absolute certainty!!

We loved the Mehtap from day one, which was back in 2007 and it gets better each year we return.

My wife and I visited the family run Mehtap on our own at first but now our daughter and her partner have started coming with us as they love it there too. On this visit her partner proposed and she accepted, not sure who was more excited with the news ourselves or Ümit and Serap the hotel owners.

Ümit and Serap over the 5 years they have been running the hotel which was built by Ümit's father many years ago they continue to improve the hotel for the comfort of their guests and always give everyone a warm welcome whether they are regulars(there are many) or it is your first stay here.

The pool is a good size and there are plenty of sun-beds and parasols for hotel guests. The pool and pool area are cleaned every day by Erdem, Serap's hard working nephew. Erdem understands more English than he speaks, he is on hand all day and evening to make sure guests are comfortable and enjoy their stay.

The rooms are very clean and have improved each year with new furniture and decorated to a better standard, this year all the room have had new bathrooms fitted and they look fantastic, I have added a photo of a bathroom all rooms have the same standard bathroom some are just bigger than others, the picture shows a smaller bathroom.

We love everything about the Mehtap, its location is just a 5 minute stroll into town, guests are all friendly, rooms are clean but best of all is the family who make your stay the most enjoyable holiday you could have.

Having stayed many times before, my partner and I were looking forward to returning to The Mehtap Hotel. Well, what a difference a few months makes! Umit has, quite literally, raised the roof. He has skillfully redesigned the rooms (bravely cutting down from 20 to 16 to make them more spacious). All have been fitted with new shower rooms and the hotel has been re-decorated inside and out.

The Mehtap is one of the warmest and friendliest hotels anyone could wish to stay in. Many of the guests are, like ourselves, frequent visitors. Newcomers are welcomed and made to feel at home - to such an extent that they too return time after time. (The downside to this is that it gets more difficult to get a room unless booking very early).

Dalyan itself has a great deal to offer. My daughter and three grandchildren joined us for a week and they too loved this little piece of paradise, in particular the wildlife. We managed to give them history, geography and biology lessons!

This was our 4th stay at The Mehtap and it gets better every time! Since last year Umit has removated the bathrooms and carried out several other improvements - of which he is justifiably proud. Umit and Serap are the most wonderful hosts and their small team work very hard indeed to make sure their guests have a very enjoyable holiday. It was also good to meet up with friends we had met on a previous visit. We will be back - and soon!

Stayed here two nights. Very basic furnishings in the room, but who stays in the room except to sleep. The room and the pool area are kept very clean. I don't know if they are the owners, but the people who run the hotel are very pleasant.
The breakfasts are typical for Turkey and were served in the pool area.
We parked our rental car in the driveway. Since we don't like to climb stairs, I asked for a room on the ground floor. It had a little terrace that faced the pool area.
You cannot beat the price which was $46 USD for a double room including all taxes and breakfast, cash only. They did not have a computer we could use.
If you want a wonderful stay in a quiet, beautiful area, stay here. You can use this as a base to see a lot of the things in the area: beach, island tours, etc.
