We stayed at the Sahin between July and august 2011 and we had a great stay, the hotel is fantastic all round and the staff are the best we have ever met - they really offer a great service.

The rooms are basic but better than expected, and can be noisy if your neighbours have no respect and slam their doors and shout in the corridors, but if you have good neighbours it would be perfect

10 min walk to the town or use the free bus service

Food in hotel is cheaper and better than most places in the town

Great tips - use the bus service in the town centre for£10 return and go to marmaris - great day out! Free wifi from hotel and also surrounding hotels.

We will be back soon see u soon Murat, semit & team!

The Sahin apartments are comfortable and clean with air conditioning in the main bedroom (we had a two-bed apartment). The staff are on hand 24/7 with a good family restaurant with extensive menu and a bar that is open until the last person goes to bed. Ideal for larger families, there are actually two pools so that when the first one gets busy there is a smaller one (1.70m deep throughout though) by the second apartment block which you can use. Although, we couldn't do a late check out because the hotel was full, the staff managed to find us another room where we could wash up before our early morning pick up (1.20am) and flight after a day out fishing and crabbing with the children. They provided fresh towels and aircon at no extra charge which was really appreciated. There was a free bus to town at 9.45am and 8pm which we took advantage of because the temperatures were in the mid 40Cs, but the walk was flat and only 10 minutes to the centre. From the main square it was then easy to get a public river boat or a bus to the beautiful turtle beach (the bus goes to the quieter end of the beach which still has excellent facilities and a turtle sanctuary). Restaurants in Dalyan were reasonably priced compared to other resorts we have been to and the atmosphere generally much more relaxed without the high pressure selling you get in some resorts. It was a lovely holiday and we would definitely consider going again.

This is going to be a long essay of a review because I can't say enough good things about the Sahin apartments and the wonderful hard-working staff...

My friend and I booked these apartments as a last-minute deal and we honestly could not have wished for anything better.

The first thing I want to say is how friendly and helpful the staff were. Murat, Ali, Omur and Sahmet were always on hand to make sure we had everything we needed. The apartments were fully booked so they were busy all the time, and temperatures reached 50 degrees while we were there but they never appeared grumpy or stressed; they were always happy to chat and make sure everyone was comfortable and enjoying themselves. Nothing was too much trouble. We also met the owner, Hassan, who is a prominent businessman in Dalyan but he was very down to earth and you can tell he values his employees and guests alike.

From Dalaman airport, the transfer to Dalyan was only 30 minutes by minibus which was ideal when arriving around midnight after a 4 hour flight (it was still around 30 degrees at night) we were greeted by Ali who showed us our room and explained how the air-conditioning worked (you have to pay extra to use the A/C but it was worth it.)

The apartment itself was fairly basic but perfectly adequate for our needs and for what we paid. The main room comprised kitchen facilities (fridge, kettle, sink and a hotplate) dining table and a sofa-bed, with a little balcony/terrace outside including a small clothes airer which was handy for hanging out wet towels and swimwear. The bedroom had air-conditioning and plenty of wardrobe/drawer space with a few coathangers. There was a decent hairdryer in the bathroom. The room is cleaned every 3rd day with fresh linen and towels, but if you want clean towels more frequently you only have to ask. The bins are changed every day. I would suggest bringing a tea towel and dish cloth for doing your own washing up.

Our apartment was in the main complex close to the reception, pool and snack bars. There is a second complex across the street with an additional pool which was a bit quieter but we didn't hang out there because we liked the atmosphere at the main pool, and if you want drinks the lovely Samet will bring them to you. The type of people who stayed at the Sahin apartments were a mixture of English and Dutch; couples, families and groups of friends. There was a lot of conviviality, everyone got on really well and we have made lots of new friends!

One thing I will say about the pool is that when the complex is full it can be difficult to get a sun lounger. Unfortunately, a lot of people put their towels out very early in the morning even if they are not going to use them until much later, which is not something I agree with but if you want to spend the day by the pool the only thing to do is beat them at their own game and bag your sun lounger before 7am. Leave it any later and you might not get one.

The pool bar is open until very late; if a guest wants drinks then they keep it open well into the small hours, and if it's not very busy then the staff are happy to chat and answer any questions about Dalyan. I don't drink alcohol but I think a beer was about 5TL. Soft drinks were 2.5TL and non-alcoholic cocktails 5TL.

There is a small mini-market at the end of the street which was handy for stocking up on soft drinks and snacks for the apartment, but if you wanted to prepare meals you would need to go to one of the bigger supermarkets along the main road (about 7 minutes' walk) however food in restaurants is not expensive so we didn't bother doing any cooking!

The restaurant/snack bar was in a lovely shaded area and is open from about 8am until late. It caters for everything. English or Turkish breakfasts from around 5TL (I can highly recommend the breakfast dish "Menemen" which is eggs with tomato, peppers and onion 5TL) ice creams, freshly cut watermelon, toasted sandwiches, pizzas/pasta and Turkish kebabs. You can see the chef, Duran, preparing all the food and he is very jolly even in that intense heat! Prices are lower than the restaurants in town and the choice and quality was excellent. We found it too hot to walk into town during the day (but not too hot to eat) so this was very handy.

There is a Turkish Bath next to the main pool. The "hammam" treatment cost 30TL (about £10) and this is a must on the first day. You start with a sauna followed by a cold shower then an invigourating scrub-down, massage and hair wash and finally a cup of pomegranate tea in the chill-out area. It is relaxing for the muscles after a long flight and gets your skin lovely and clean/soft ready to catch a golden tan. I would recommend SPF30 as a minimum because the temperatures reached 50 degrees in July.

Dalyan town centre is about 10 minutes' walk from the Sahin apartments, but the guys offer a courtesy minibus into the centre at 9:45am and 8pm. If you want a lift into town at a different time they will oblige if they can.

In the town centre you'll find an expanse of restaurants and bars to suit everyone, and a good selection of gift shops selling Turkish delight, jewellery etc. The prices are very reasonable (Asda price) just be mindful of your luggage allowance going home! We found that restauranteurs and shop keepers in Dalyan do not hassle tourists as aggressively as in other parts of Turkey, which was a welcome change. They do not mind if you say you want to browse. The "harbour" is just behind the mosque off the main square, where you can arrange boat excusrions or a water taxi to the beach. Restauants by the waterfront are a bit cooler.

You can change money in the post office, or exchange it in reception for the same rate to save you a trip into town. There are ATM machines in town but we were told the exchange rate is lower when using ATMs. The local currency is Turkish Lira, although some restaurants will accept Euro. You can exchange Euro or Sterling for Turkish Lira.

The courier who brought us to the resort from the airport said "In Dalyan they care about people." Here are just some examples of how the guys went out of their way to help us:
1) They lent us a bottle of "Sin Kov" (the local mosquito repellant) on arrival, although you can buy this in every shop for about 5TL. It's important to apply this in the early evening.
2) There are large bottles of drinking water for sale at reception for 1.5TL - this is the same price as the local shop, but it was so handy not having to lug it up the road in the heat.
3) One of our lights stopped working late at night and it turned out to be a fuse not just the bulb. They changed it for us, even though they had to pop into town (where shops are open very late) for the parts.
4) I stayed in bed with a dodgy tummy one day (I would emphasise this was not from bad food I think it was because it was so hot) and when the guys asked my friend why I wasn't by the pool, they knocked on the door with some tablets (which did the job) and made me some lovely cheese on toast when I was feeling better.
5) We bought some milk from a supermarket and it was sour. They lent us some fresh milk so we didn't have to trek back to the shop.

In April I stayed in a 5 star hotel in Cyprus, however I can honestly say I felt just as pampered at the Sahin apartments and I will definitely be visiting again. I hope you have found this review informative and that you may enjoy your stay as much as we did!

After reading other reviews we werent apprehensive at all about going to the sahin and they were right.

We got a great room near reception in the main building, although this could be a little noisy at times it was definitely the better part of the complex.

The other appartments just off the main complex are a lot more relaxing. The pool area at the main complex could get a little rowdy during the day with the staff at regular times each day messing in the pool, great if you like that kind of thing but if your after a quiet day maybe not.

As for the food as many others have commented was excellent and even cheaper than if you walk into town, for example a lovely chicken omelette would set you back 6TL or if wanted something bigger chicken Shish 10TL.

What I never seem to find in reviews is the cost of a drink so averages here may help: average beer 5TL, wine 6TL, soft drinks 3TL. These are bar prices supermarkets are a llittle cheaper.

All in all a great week and helpful staff, could not go wrong for the price

Just come back from a 7 day break in the Sahin, it was brilliant, Omar, Samet, Ali, Murat were brilliant and couldn't do enough for you. The chefs food was brilliant and it was no dearer than in town. It was about a 15min walk into town, but they did provide a minibus to take you in in the morning and evening. Would definitely go back.

Room Tip: So many beautiful restaurants and bars in Dalyan.

just got back from the Sahin after two weeks of brilliant treatment in a great location, with good food, with every meal cooked fresh, (and REAL chips for those that want them!) and good clean basic rooms.

The staff Omur, Murat, Ali and Ahmed couldn't do enough for any of the guests, old or young, male or female.
they were all friendly and professional, and were so helpful it was almost like having your own personal staff!
There is an onsite hammam, which is top notch as well, with superb staff also.
when we were there there was no loud music at the pool bar, for which we all were very grateful.
any little problem or request was dealt with quickly and courteously, with nothing being too much trouble for any of them.
we have stayed in much more expensive hotels and apartments both in Turkey and other countries but this was one of the best, and one of the cheapest.
we got back this morning and are already looking to book for next year at these excellent apartments.
top class, well done boys!

Room Tip: just ask to change if you dont like your room
