“Would not stay here again”
Reviewed 24 August 2013

This is the second time we have stayed at the Sahin; last year we had such a great time being entertained by Ali and others that we did not notice the apartments too much. The staff this year were helpful and friendly but minus the spark that was Ali. We were on the top floor rm 107 (same room as last year) our bedroom reading light was coming off the wall and the pull strung was non existent. The sheets and pillow cases had a few small holes but one towel I used was so threadbare and full of holes that I would have only used it as a rag at home. Our aircon in the bedroom so did not reach the rest of the apartment - it had a huge unit in the balcony that dripped constantly, very slippery and dangerous - the cleaner actually took out the tray at the bottom of the fridge to catch the overflow for us! We only ate at lunch and the food was ok, however next door at Central Park it was cheaper and food is phenomenal - wish I had found that out the first week! Summing up- we love Dalyan and none of the above spoiled our holiday the Sahin needs a total overhaul with the owner spending a few grand on it. We won't go back there again.

Just returned from Sahin (August 2013). We had an upper studio apartment which was spacious but needed attention.Taking a shower required careful planning due to a broken hook and a poorly designed bathroom, the bedroom curtains were hanging off the runners, the only chairs in the room were dirty and broken and the towels had holes in them! The general standard of cleanliness was very poor, particularly the floor. As echoed in other reviews, storage is also lacking...we left one case unpacked rather than cram everything into a tiny wardrobe space.
We were also given a payment card for meals and drinks. The system is very inefficient with staff jotting bar bills on scraps of paper and no running tally/receipt available for reference for guests. We had to query our bill at least three times due to being overcharged. However, issues were resolved amicably.
On the plus side, the food was exceptionally good value for money. If you like omelette/eggs then I would recommend the Turkish omelette "menemen" and the Turkish buffet and folk dance night was really good value at £10.

The apartments are spacious and kept very clean by two lovely ladies. As other reviews have mentioned there are only two hobs to cook on,but if you enjoy cooking these are adequate, just use your imagination. The staff Guzman, Ebnu, Kazim,Baynam, Tugae,Burak and not forgetting Zafer are very friendly and helpful .The Sahin is in a great location only ten minutes walk away from the centre of Dalyan. We really enjoyed our stay and have booked again for next year this time for 17 nights.

Recently returned from a weeks stay at Sahin Villa Aparts, we had an absolutely fantastic time! Great complex and brilliant resort (Dalyan).

On arrival (9.00pm), we were greeted by friendly staff and a complimentary fruit drinks whilst we waited for our room keys, documents and resort payment card (for hotel tab). The porter then brought our bags to the room turned on the lights and left without waiting for a tip.

Our apartment was found in an extremely clean and tidy condition, very spacious for a couple. The bed was fairly comfortable if a little on the firm side (which I guess is common for hotel beds). The kitchen area was very small and basic with a fridge and small freezer compartment, 1 cupboard and 2 hob rings. No toaster, oven or microwave. This didn't cause too much of a problem as we ate out every night, I wouldn't attempt to self cater here unless that's your plan as well! The bathroom (wet room) is an ok size and was very clean. The rooms get very hot and air-con is a must! but only costs about £20 for the week.

The hotel reception area was pleasant and the two pool areas were very nice to be around, always sunbeds available which is a huge plus (even when the pool was quite busy)! The bar was great and very well stocked! Not always attended but a quick shout to any of the staff and service was instantly available. Try the milkshakes!

The staff were excellent! Friendly and attentive, provided games around the pool and spoke good English. At one point we asked if they sold Pringles at the bar, the staff member told us unfortunately they didn't but to give him 5-10 minutes. About 10 Minutes he came back with a can of Pringles from the shop along with a receipt that he charged to our tab with no extra cost! You wont find service like that anywhere else!

The hotel has its own Turkish Bath which I've heard is fantastic, however we had to forego because of sunburn! The town of Dalyan is Beautiful! lots of shops, lovely river, very nice people great bars open till late and some fantastic restaurants (with possibly slightly pushy restaurant promoters). The town is roughly a 10 minute walk from the apartments.

The beach (Turtle beach) is fantastic, lovely bar and restaurant on it but it isn't spoilt by much else, sunbeds with parasols 9TL for the day, lovely sand no pebbles or sharp shells but gets incredibly hot in the middle of the day! Bring some good sandals! You get to the beach by river taxi, about a 25 minute boat ride along the river from the centre of Dalyan, absolutely lovely and relaxing with good priced drinks and snacks on board. This costs 10 TL return per person (roughly £3.30) which is incredibly good value.

All in all a brilliant holiday Turkey very hot so lots of sun lotion needed! As Dalyan is a river resort, there is lots of mosquitos about. The mosquito repellent bands from theye.co.uk are fantastic! You will not be bitten if you wear it permanently, the only bite either of us got was when my boyfriend forgot his band one afternoon! And they only got a fiver.

For people after a rough idea of how much money to take, roughly £100 per couple per day is more than enough.

The only negatives about Sahin are the lack of Wi-Fi in the rooms, however is available for free in the pool area and the incredibly basic kitchen. A Tv with a couple of English channels wouldn't go a miss.

Quick warning, there are a lot of stray dogs in and around Dalyan but they all seem disease free and people take them in to get neutered and then release them again! None of them are aggressive at all (goes to show its more the owners of dogs in this country than the dogs themselves!) and some are actually very cute! However people with a phobia of dogs may not appreciate this.

Sahin apartments is suitable for couples of all ages and families with children. We loved our stay! You will too!

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the opposite side from reception if you're looking for a quieter stay.

Basic but clean. We stayed in a two bed apartment, plenty of room, could do with more storage in the second bedroom. We took a cheap toaster from the uk and left it there.Love my toast in the morning.Don't bother bying the big water (5lt) from the supermarket, they only cost 2TL in the Sahin! Pools clean, plenty of sunbeds. The quiet pool across the little road had hardly anyone there. Staff are great, the manager very friendly and helpful. The hotel has adopted a stray puppy, paid the vet bill to get it well and named it Sahin, beautiful bundle of fun.
Be aware there is only aircon in the double bedroom (in the two bed apartments). Food prices very good, great value. Efes only 6.5 TL.
The gardens could do with a little TLC. To get into town either turn left then right and follow the main road or take the shortcut (look up for the storks nest), The short cut is right then left down a track past lots of villas. You come out in the market area next to Bistro Clou, fab place to eat.
Air con and safety box 10TL per day. Very good price. 50TL to keep room as long as you need it.
Overall great value holiday, would stay here again.

Room Tip: We had room 206, shaded by the trees. A little sun in the evening. Overlooking pool and garden. Fab

Staying in Sahin as I write this review, the apartments are quite basic but very clean all you need for 2 weeks, maybe the only thing I would say is maybe more clothes storage, one set of draws is all it would take, the apartments have 2 swimming pools both are kept very clean, and always plenty of sun beds, the prices in the restaurant and pool bar are just the same as in town,so all in all great value for money, try the Sahin you won't be disappointed.
