I was debating whether we should see the Fethiye ruins or Dalyan's; I decided to just do both. Dalyan's ruins have less erosion and no vandalism (that I could see) due to their location on a near vertical cliff. However, you can't get close to them. Most view the ruins from the promenade alongside the river on the Dalyan side. You can hire a boat or floating taxi to take you across the river. The closest one can get is the bottom of the cliff, which has a terrible view since the ruins are so far above your head. If you look at people's pictures, you can still take nice pictures. Neither city gives any information about them, but it should be in your guide book. Dalyan's Lycian ruins are beautifully lit at night to. I think it's must see, because its a uniquely southwestern Turkish site.
