Been to Fevzi's a few times now, in all seasons too... from mid-winter where we had to phone the number on the door, and he came and opened up and cooked us a personal meal, to off-season and now again in almost mid summer.

This most recent visit was pretty busy, but the food was still as excellent, and with a 3 staff on hand, everything worked like clockwork... but in a relaxed Fevzi sort of way. One new waiter was a chap called Antonio, an Italian living in Turkey, with a Turkish wife and family (like me). He spoke fluent Turkish, Italian of course, and pretty good English. A real character who complimented the charm of off beat Fevzi's.

My wife and I had an outstanding meal at this wonderful restaurant in Datca. The service was excellent along with the fish and mezes. You can definitely see that the restaurant is owned and run by a family, which makes it more intimate and cosy. The desserts were fantastic and our appetites were satisfied. Definitely a great place with an incredible meal. No complaints here!!

Having travelled and lived in this part of the world for almost 30 years, I've seen my fair share of seafood/fish restaurants. Sadly, many of the old tavernas and family eateries have disappeared, replaced by more westernised establishments. This place is an exception.

In Datça, like many coastal Mediterranean towns, it caters for the domestic and western tourist with most seafood restaurants offering fully-dressed tables and chairs on the beach, over-attentive service, predictable dishes, and equally over-inflated prices. Every establishment offers practically the same mezzes, fish, and speciality dishes, such as calamari etc.

We read a couple of reviews from Turkish websites about Fevzi's, so went to seek out this place on our recent weekend visit (we live 2 hours away). Instantly, we were struck by the old style simplicity. Wooden chains and tables. No fancy glassware or sunset beach views. Father was cooking, and his daughter serving. The service was fine, taking time to explain every dish in detail, not just pushing the standard fare, which most other restaurants seem to do these days here. We just wanted a selection of dishes, no 'big fish' at extortionate rates; the response, no problem, happy to do what we wanted, whereas other places try and force the 100TL fish at you every 2 minutes.

The food was faultless, seriously. We had plenty to eat, all freshly prepared in a spotless traditional kitchen you could walk into and observe. The dishes were so refreshingly different to the 'norm' and we are really looking forward to going back to sample some more. In fact, for Kurban Bayram (our upcoming national holiday), we have cancelled plans to visit Kalymnos in favour of returning to Datça for a week, purely because of this restaurant, it was that impressive (for us).

Try it, and maybe you'll rediscover the tastes and feel of old time Mediterranean dining :))

It is not a five star restaurant with excellent service, however if you would like to taste different foods selected and created from what nature offers (seafood and green) and if you can do without a luxury ambience and fast service, you will enjoy being there. The place is close to the center, also close to the sea but you can not see the sea from where you sit. Therefore the location is not attractive. There are many varieties, so make sure you try different things since some of them may not fit your taste. We go to this restaurant several times a year every time we are in Datca. Our favorites are fish soup, fish balls, green olives, fish borek, kalamar, available fish of the day, any suggestion of the day and at the end 'keciboynuzlu muhallebi' as sweet. The food portions resemble 'tapas' of Spain.
