“Knidos worth the drive!”
Reviewed 7 August 2013

Knidos was the reason we went to Datca, and the drive to it which was well under and hour was fun. Up steep hills, cliffs, goats, pine trees, the ocean on both sides, villages, and once you reach Knidos which takes a bit of an imagination to see how it once was, if its June its HOT! But the ruins are cool, there are few people around, not like Ephesus at all. But the beautiful water is everywhere. There is one place to eat it was pretty good and nice service. Knidos ruins are worth the drive if your seeing other things on your trip too, but I dont know if I would make just a trip to see these ruins if your expecting something spectacular like Ephesus. But than again you are in the middle of no where!

“Beautiful, but probably better seen outside the summer months”
Reviewed 3 August 2013

The setting is beautiful, with two small harbours of crystalline water. However, if you do it in July like I did, you really will not want to wander for hours under the sun. The road to get to Knidos is basic, to say the least, and you should allow some 45 minutes of careful driving, but it is worth it.

“Spectacular”
Reviewed 25 July 2013

We weren't expecting much because we had an old guide book and the site must have been excavated recently. In fact they are still at it. One gets a good feeling of what this town with its two interlinked ports must have been like in its heyday. The vows from the hill over the sea are staggering.

A great place to visit by sailing yacht. You can charter, bareboat or skippered from Marmaris and sail the Turkish coast

“Ephesus without the crowds”
Reviewed 28 June 2013

Well perhaps not quite Ephesus but the ruins are very extensive and you can explore where you will. Information is a little sparse but well worth a visit just for the beauty of the place. Served by a little bar next door with expensive (but not outrageous) drinks.
