This site is out at the end of the Datca peninsula, down small and winding roads, in a gorgeous setting (we enjoyed it in the afternoon light) overlooking two harbors. Entry was 8 Turkish Lira. The theater is nice (overlooking the harbor), but most of the other ruins are completely crumbled rocks. We enjoyed spending an hour wandering around the large site (wear good walking/hiking shoes, as there is some rocky hill climbing), although were a bit disappointed that there were not more recognizable ruins. Still, it’s an amazing place, and imagining life here in this ancient place with 2 harbors was interesting. We thought the place could use more sign boards and explanations of what we were seeing.

Really nice quiet place with no crowds and lots to see. You're able to walk/climb freely through all the ruins and really get a feel for how it must have been. As the site is still actively being worked on, you are also able to watch people cleaning and restoring parts of the ruins.
Make sure your camera has a panoramic setting - you'll need it!

This is a huge Graeco-Roman site - covers about 7 kms - and one could spend a day there exploring. Its interest is not just archaelogical and historical but also biblical. It is well-signed in English and the bonus is the wonderful views on all sides not just of the countryside but of the coast and some of the Greek islands

Set at the end of Datca this ancient ruins site is one of the nicest to visit. You can even take a swim when it gets too hot walking around the ruins. Since it is built on a steep hill, you may have a hard time getting to all the ruins if you have any physical disabilities.

4,000 year old once dynamic and prospering city, the ruins still being unearthed. It takes a good 3 hours to tour. Wonderful setting, so tranquil. Two harbours from classical times, they don't look sheltered but they are. This is a beautiful place. The dockside berthing was very efficiently handled for us too.

Ashore is a real gem of a taverna run by a lovely man who also sells Turkish carpets. The mezes here were just a delight. The 2 kilo bass we 4 shared even more so, the best fish that we enjoyed all holiday. The setting is a delight too. Service was excellent and friendly. This is a kind of paradise for yachtsmen to visit and foodies too.

They do get visits by tour boats, but it is still pretty quiet and after about 7pm everyone goes home except the taverna people. I would drive down the length of the Dacta peninsula just to see the site of Knidos and enjoy the taverna.
