“maddison & isa wedding”

Paradise..

Relaxing second week , hectic first week organising my daughters wedding in this beautiful hotel.
Second time here in perili love this hotel.
Lovely food, great service from all the waiters 24hr bar and all the restraunts.
Thank you to the Hotel Manager for all the help from all his staff with the wedding..
The a la carte restraunt was so perfect for the wedding party.

For the second week we chilled out in the big chairs with great big bean bags by the water with a few drinks .. paradise watching the sun set going down.

if you want a relaxing holiday away from all the night life , quiet , peaceful this is ideal..
Food is lovely.. Breath taking views

A secret beach is 5 mins away called Sandy bay , lovely clear blue water and white sand.
My favourite restraunt Ali s .. secret paradise

Room Tip: The bigger rooms are in the court yard but no views except for the front ones ..

We have just returned from Perili Bay after a fabulous 2 week holiday. My Daughter decided to get married here after meeting her hubby to be back in 2008 when it was a sunsail resort and they worked together.Although the hotel had never held a wedding here before they were more than happy to work with us to create the wedding my daughter had dreamt of.The staff were fantastic especially Furkan and Pina who went far beyond the call of duty to help us even working on the day of the wedding itself which was their day off.We were a group of 48 family and friends and found no fault with the resort.Location beautiful, food plentiful and varied and spotlessly clean. If you are looking for a very traditional Turkish hotel away from the stresses of everday life and real relaxation this is the resort for you.

In need of some isolation and relaxation we stayed at the Perili for a 4 day break. We were allocated a spotlessly clean and huge room with views over the ultra clean pools. Weather wasn't great but this was more than compensated by the level of comfort we received. Food was Turkish, nonstop, huge meals, delicious salads, fish, chicken, veggies, all we needed and then came the snacks and ice cream that were served in between. Huge chairs with warm cushions placed to overlook the bay when the sun went down and an open bar serving the cocktail of the day. No this is not 4* Mexico luxury but then it's not those prices either. We had a super time and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel

Room Tip: Away from the bar which although they play low key music it is open 24hr. A real surprise for a Turk...

My husband and I booked a week's stay in late September through Secret Escapes on an excellent deal. We thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to recharge our batteries and returned refreshed and relaxed. I imagine it may not be for everyone though, so here is a lowdown of pros and cons:

Pros

- Beautiful isolated location = peace and quiet

- Pretty beach with adequate beds and sun shades so no need to get up early to get down there! We often arrived on the beach around 10.30amish and there were always places free.

- Lovely clear sea and decent enough snorkelling opportunities (we saw an octopus twice which was my personal favourite). You can bring your own snorkel as we did, or buy one from the little shop on site (which we also did as my husband's broke). It was only around £12.

- We were lucky enough to have a large room high up with a breathtaking view of the sea and hills. We were upgraded to a family room, so we had an upstairs (where we slept) and a downstairs (which we didn't really use, but it was nice to have the space and have the option!) I actually emailed the management before arrival to let them know we were celebrating a birthday, so we may have had an upgrade because of that.

- The price - this is a great value holiday.

- Overall vibe = totally relaxed.

- Boat trip organised by the hotel (Maradona's boat trip) was a good day out, sailing around to pretty coves and then going into Datca and to the market which has some lovely jewellery stands but is mainly local not touristy which is refreshing.

- The weather - we were there in the last week of September and it was the perfect temperature - sunny and around 26-28 degrees during the day going down to around 22 degrees in the evenings.

- Swimming pool and sauna - we didn't use it much but there is a really nice large swimming pool and a little sauna, good to explore.

- Pretty grounds - the hotel itself is very attractive, mish mash of styles, quirky and the gardeners do an excellent job, with beautiful flowers and fruit trees such as pomegranate and fig.

- Kittens and chickens roaming the grounds - so cute!

Cons

- Getting there was a total pain. If you can pay for a private transfer from the airport, do it. We had to wait around on a massive coach for very slow people and I think the next flight in from London too which was really frustrating and then it is around 1.5 hours to Marmaris and then you have to get off for another hour or so to the hotel by minibus. You are tired and grumpy by the time you arrive... I can't imagine this would be a good idea with children.

- Communication - the staff at the resort are by and large very friendly and amiable but most of the guests are German or Turkish and not many staff speak English. This can be an issue at times. However, the reception staff can speak decent English and should be able to sort something out.

- Food - may not be to everyone's taste. Personally we were fine as we like salads, couscous etc and we had a lot of salad and soup. Also they do excellent rice and stews. However, most of the food was Turkish or German (wurst several times) and some English people may not be used to this. At breakfast there are omelettes cooked to order and pancaked (with nutella rather than maple syrup sadly) but otherwise it is cereal and a lot of cold meats and cheeses. No pastries sadly.

- Bed making - the room was kept very clean, but something very weird was going on with the bed linen and bed making. Our bed was huge so the sheets wouldn't fit on it properly so we didn't have a sheet or duvet covering us at night and only had a single blanket each and the blanket was a bit scratchy. We improvised and removed the sheets from the beds downstairs and used those, but the maids took them away. We were reduced to finding some more sheets in the store and then hiding them every day so the maids wouldn't find them! Became something of an amusement really, what the maids would do to the bedsheets every day. They did some lovely swirl patterns with the towels and sheets on some days too...

- Service at dinner - could be very hit and miss. Some waiting staff were excellent, others were more interested in their mobile phones and plates stacked up while you ate which wasn't great. Also the waiters didn't really tidy up the place settings properly so if you sat where other people had been sitting there may be remnants left.

- Birds in cages in reception area - the cages are TOO SMALL so management please invest in some bigger cages, poor little things.

Overall, we would recommend this to people who simply want a quiet getaway to recharge their batteries. Not sure I would recommend it to families - there are a lot of steps with jagged edges etc and the transfer is long - although the beach is perfect for children...

Room Tip: High up on the hill for beautiful sea views.

Just returned from one week stay. The weather was not ideal (storms/raining) but this only added to the disappointments. Yes as everyone else says this a lovely location and the village style of the hotel and their rooms is distinct and different. However, this is far from the 5 star standard conveyed by Secret Escapes. The restaurant (largely open to the weather) was unable to cope with the number of guests even though the hotel was not at capacity. Very average food was always cold and the buffet style was crude and canteen-like (no table linen) using tiny tea plates and jammed back-to-back seating with staff pushing to clear your place for the next guest. Eating was noisy, crowded and way too busy and rushed. In the main staff were helpful and polite but very few have even a basic grasp of English as they cater more for their predominantly German clientele. The location is pretty but very remote with nothing to do and no where to go walk-about to. The town of Datca is well worth the short bus ride and provides some sanity from near cabin fever dullness at the hotel. Would not recommend for families or activity seekers or anyone expecting quality and high standards - it fails miserably. The hotel looks tired and in need of a good overhaul to bring it up to a 3 to 4 star standard - it could never reach the 5 star standard of other hotels we've stayed at in Turkey. We think Secret Escapes should be more vigilant in presenting the correct image of this hotel - we certainly wouldn't wish to go back there and would be cautious of the quality and romantic claims of Secret Escapes in the future.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view and check everything works e.g. shower/air conditioning. Don't be fobbed off...

The Perili Bay Resort is laid out like a Turkish village and overlooks a shingle beach. Some apartments are high up with lots of steps leading up to them. Accommodation was clean with fresh towels each day. The gardens and flowers are beautiful with lots of places to sit and admire the view over the bay. No charge for sun beds on the beach. There were a mixture of Turkish families with small children and babies and German tourists during our stay, but very few English guests. Communication at reception in English is not easy. The children seemed very happy - chasing the kittens and chickens and swimming in the sea. The animation team also provided a mini disco for the children in the evenings. Adult entertainment in the evenings was soul destroying - dreary singers until midnight. The restaurant was generally good for salads and breakfasts, but limited for hot food (although there was a barbecue style meat or fish dish each evening).
The hotel arranged our transfers to and from Dalaman airport by private car, journey time 2 hours. The car was one hour late on our arrival at Dalaman, which meant phoning the non-English speaking hotel reception with the help of a nearby Turkish tour guide.
Boat trips run from directly outside the hotel on its own jetty. An hourly Dolmus into Datca (20km away) takes around 15 mins. If you would like to visit the old village with its little stone houses, you need to ask the driver to stop at Eski Datca. From the main road it takes only a couple of minutes to walk into the village where there are little cafes and stalls selling handicrafts. We walked from Eski Datca along the main road into Datca and it took around 45 mins. In Datca you can book a coach to Marmaris at the Pamukkale ticket office. The coach is an hourly service.
The Saturday market in Datca is worthwhile and quite a large market. We were not pestered to buy spices etc. as we have been at Hisaronu and Fethiye markets. There is a clean public toilet in the centre of Datca (1 turkish lira).
We found this to be a relaxing holiday and enjoyed our two week stay. It is not ideal for non-smokers, as it is hard to get away from cigarette smoke wherever you sit.

Room Tip: We were pleased to have asked for a room with sea-view. We were so close to the sea that we could h...
