We dined at this restaurant 17/7/14 for dinner. From the time we entered the front door it was excellent service, the attending waiter obviously had a vast knowledge of wines which I might add was a BYO with only a minimal corkage fee. The service was friendly and slick, the food was very appetising, tasty and well presented. My wife and I walked out very satisfied. It is wonderful to dine at such a classy local restaurant. We can thoroughly recommend.

Superb food - we has the chargrilled platter for two, sensational taste and cooked to perfection. This wasn't on the menu ( it was a selection of succulent seafood and meat, with gourmet salad and melt in the mouth chips) but we understand it is one of their standing Specials that was suggested to us by the owner. Great attentiveness was paid to our special dietary requests - nothing was too much trouble. While the food (and wine, they have a great wine list) was quite exceptional, the service was truly five star. This place is busy, with good reason so it looks like booking would be essential. For a special night out, Grange Bistro is a stand out; great food, great ambience and all round great experience. We will be back.

Revisiting a restaurant with friends to whom you have recommended it, is sometimes fraught with problems. However, at The Grange, I needn't have worried. Just as with my first visit, the three course $79 for two people option, is a winner. The young waiter showed professionalism and courtesy well beyond his years and was always smiling! Beaumaris is lucky to have this outstanding place, as a quality option to eateries in nearby suburbs. All three couples can't wait to bring other friends here. That's quite an endorsement.

Visited this delightful restaurant in late April to celebrate our 11th wedding anniversary. I mentioned this when booking and was delightful upon arrival to find we were seated in the private dining room. We had it to ourselves for most of our dinner.

The owner/chef took his time explaining the menu to us but it was lovely to hear such passion and pride in the food he cooks. We took his recommendations and went for the specials. They did not disappoint. I made sure I left room for dessert and was thoroughly glad I did.

The restaurant is warm and inviting and the wait staff eager to please ... at times over zealous though as we counted 6 different staff who either served or asked us if everything was ok. A small gripe in the scheme of things.

Booked in response to a "two for one" offer in the local paper. On the night we were told the offer was not available because "you have to book it in advance" - in response to our being unhappy about this the waiter confirmed with the maitre'd that this was the position. When we asked for the bill for the wine we had already ordered and said we were leaving the maitre'd and then the proprietor were all over us saying that it was all "a mistake" and that (as if by magic) the offer was available. That made it worse and we left. It was a mistake all right - and one we won't repeat!! Cannot rate the food - didn't get that far.The staff have no idea.
