The two of us stayed here for a weekend get away over New Years 2012/13 and could not have asked for anything better. The two bedroom chalet was top of the line - very well furnished and clean, a lovely shower with plenty of hot water and plenty of room to relax in. The hosts were very helpful and the price was good too (took advantage of a summer special). Close to town (a 10 min walk at the most) and would definitely stay here again. Thanks

Stayed at the rocky mountain chalets for 1 night in sept. 2012 on our way through. The accomodation was well presented, perfectly clean and very comfortable.
The location is a little bit outside of town just on he boarder of ohakune which was to too much trouble.

In the morning we popped up the mountain and were allowed a late check out.

Would highly recommend and would like to go back again with he family for a longer stay

I have stayed with Rocky Mountain chalets 7 years in a row on a regular 9 day break with friends, plus on other ad hoc weekends. I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else in Ohakune.

It's excellent value for money (especially if you book their 7 night special offer). The communal spa pools are great and the chalets are well appointed with good equipment in the kitchen. There are heat pumps to keep you warm.

You have mountain views from some of the chalets, and from the spa pools - what more could you want from your Ohakune experience?

Some of the chalets are positioned to get all day sun so you can sit out on the desk if the weather is nice (surprisingly warm sometimes at the beginning/end of the snow season).

The chalets are outside of the main township, but you can easily walk to them or if it's late at night you can get the 'party shuttle' which is a shuttle bus service that does a loop of Ohaknue picking and dropping off at the major night spots.

Room Tip: Ask for a chalet that gets the sun. Some of the chalets are on the main road in/out of Ohakune wh...

We stayed at the chalet for a week while we went skiing at Turoa (25min away) and Whakapapa (40min away). The chalet was great - 2 bedrooms with a good size kitchen, washing machine, dryer (this came in very handy as it rained a lot!), and nice lounge room. There's also 2 lovely spas shared between all the chalets - perfect after a long days skiing! The chalet was nice and clean. Its only a short walk into Ohakune for dinner etc. The owners of the chalets were fantastic - very helpful and friendly and knew everything about the local area and the slopes. Would definately recommend this place for a group of friends or a family wanting to do some skiing.

My family including 3 children stayed in the Presidential Chalet for 3 nights, this contained a fire place & our own spa. We found the accommodation great for the family, it had 3 bedrooms, full size kitchen, lounge & laundry. The location is only short walk from Ohakune, we walked into town every night for a meal. This was our first visit to the snow fields & had a great time on the slopes the first day. The 2nd day the weather was terrible.
The hosts were great, very friendly and went out of their way to assist us. I would have no hesitation in recommending the accommodation.

We stayed here for a week to go snowboarding, with Turoa mountain only a half hour drive away.
This place is very clean, really friendly staff and close to everything. Be prepaired though there is nothing much to do in Ohakune, the supermarket shuts at 7 and there is barely any shops. If you want nightlife, go to Queenstown. There is nothing much around. If you are going purely to snowboard, go to north island. Nice little chalets all the same.
