We stayed here for the Mystery Lake Adventure Race and thought it was fantastic. The setting is stunning, with the remoteness of it all adding to the experience. Perfect location for a get-away from the hustle and bustle. Our room was excellent, easily fitting four of us and all our gear. Highly reccommend for a weekend away. Thanks

if you are looking for a place with stunning landscape, scenery, quietness and a sense of being away, then this a great place to start.
It wont have all your needs covered but it will have a nice bed, clean room, bar and cafe and a generally pretty easy going feel about the place.
We stayed as part of a race over a weekend and it certainly catered to all that i have mentioned above.
Enjoy

We recently stayed at Mt Potts Lodge as part of the Mystery Creek Adventure Race. The location is incredible, magnificent scenery and isolation. After racing it was wonderful to come back to hot showers and heated bathroom floors to warm up the cold toes. The food was wonderful and the bar very welcoming with a cosy pot belly stove adding to the charm of the lodge. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend Mt Potts Lodge if you are looking to get away from the bustle of everyday life in a remote location and enjoy the great outdoors.

I stayed at the lodge while myself and 3 friends did the Mystery Lake AR. It's a friendly unpretentious place in an awesome location. The room was comfortable and warm without being overly luxurious - why go to a place like that and spend all your time in the room? The lodge itself is light and welcoming, the food is hearty and the staff treat you with an easygoing kiwi hospitality. I'm already planning to return for a weekend with my girlfriend. Our family of 4 (us and 2 teenage sons) arrived after dark in the fog, having driven straight from Christchurch after our flight from Sydney, and were met by staff who were waiting for us. We stayed at Stag Cottage and had a good idea from the website of what it looked like. It is a fairly old property but perfectly clean and well maintained. We thought it had wonderful character, and the lack of a TV and internet was a bonus as far as we were concerned! We enjoyed our dinner sitting in the comfy old leather lounges by the pot belly stove. The beds are very comfy as well and In the morning we woke to a mist enshrouded landscape with no idea of the splendor that would be revealed within a couple of hours as the skies cleared to a sensational day. We climbed Mt Sunday (the reason for staying at Mt Potts) and this was an amazing experience. For our first day ever in NZ we could not have asked for anything better!
